Gotta sign Julio Jones to the Eagles and the Browns need P.J. Walker added. I don't understand how the qb that started the last game for the Browns isn't added on the team. Maybe he is still considered practice squad?

This may not be news to many, however using active rosters this year seems to work a lot better in other years when it comes to franchise mode. It's been my go-to since they haven't updated the live rosters and stats since Week 1. The only issue I've found with the rosters is Aaron Rodgers retires every time. I've tried to start in the preseason and Week 1, take the Jets and also not take the Jets. Every time he retires, which is a bit of a bummer for franchise all around.

P.J. Walker is indeed on the Browns practice squad and has not yet been promoted to their active roster. The Browns have elevated Walker from the practice squad to active game-day player twice this year, and may elevate him once more this season before Walker must either remain on their practice squad for the remainder of the season, is promoted to the 53-man active roster, or signs with another team to join their 53-man active roster.

Madden 24 doesn't concern itself with the recent NFL rule changes which afford practice squad spots to veteran players at all, so until Walker is on the 53-man roster in real life, he will remain a free agent in the game.

Why did they drop Lawrence? He's led the team to 4 wins in like 22 days in 3 timezones.

He's playing great despite the interior o-line giving him zero time to throw, and forcing screens and rollouts.

It's also weird that Dak went up only +1 after easily his best game of the season thus far against the Chargers compared to his +2 earned falling out from the Patriots game (which, his average depth of target was much lower and also that game generally wasn't competitive).

Whatever machinations are informing how player ratings are moving up and down each week certainly is a bit mystic thus far this season.

I think it's fair to say that the ratings adjustments are all subjective to whoever is doing them. I don't think there's any rubric they go by. Tristan Wirfs went down one week, yet he was the highest rated LT in the entire league in pass protection so far this season by PFF. There's a total bias in who is getting upgrades and downgrades.

I think the opposite about most of the ratings adjustments, honestly. Watch how it behaves with guys who are injured. Nyheim Hines was lost for the season in a Jetski accident and won't play a single snap this year. They tweaked his stats down after Week 3 and 4, for no obvious reason. I strongly suspect there's some kind of formula they are using behind the scenes that spits out "Nyheim Hines has 0 rushes for 0 yards in the last 3 games" and automatically drops the dude. They'll go in and move a few numbers manually to make it look good.
