"Assisted Strategies", broken?

There is a setting option labeled "Assisted Strategies". This option seems to only appear in-game and Franchise mode. While they are pretty self explanatory, I don't think they work. Mine are "On" and "3/6" but nothing ever happens in-game, nor are there any suggestions ever made. Meaning my strategies remain the same all game and my goalie is never pulled and a time out never called on my behalf. I don't know about the short bench.


What am I missing? Is it broken?

User Strat at 3, nothing will change. Move it up to 4, 5, or 6. You will see it adjust during the game depending on how the game is going.

I think it's maybe broken... There's no empty net when I'm losing by one or two with less of 2 minutes remaining

On 4 it pops up once during the first period when someone scores asking me to go either defensive or more attacking depending on who scored. After that nothing, doesn’t offer to roll 3 lines, pull goalies or offer timeouts. I have to do it all myself.

This WAS working on the launch version as I remember late in a game it suggesting I roll 3 lines. Not seen it since.

I presume one of the patches broke it.

Yes, I saw it once a few days ago and haven't seen it since. Also, bumping it up to "6" didn't seem to do anything.

Is this still broken in 25? I have yet to see any popups or changes no matter what I set the slider to.

Previous games I always set it to six so my goalie would be pulled if my team was down.
Now I'm normally not losing haha but I haven't had the goalie be pulled once ever it's definitely broken. I hate pausing and then having to change pull goalie as they normally get the puck from me on the pause.

You can use LB+View button on XBox to pull the goalie on the fly so you don’t have to pause the game. Not sure what the button combo is on PS but I assume it’s similar (maybe L1+Create button?). Been that way since NHL 08 I believe.

EDIT: For some reason the button combo isn’t in the controller settings anyway, but it still works. Makes it so much easier to pull the goalie while playing. Hope that helps.
