TALKING POINTS

1. 2K still doesn't understand OVR outside of individual context, and isn't willing to put in the work.
Dropping Paul Reed's rating based on his play is fine in a vacuum. The problem is OVR is more than just an individual player rating, it is a league & team rating. This drops his rating lower than Mo Bamba, who has barely played because he is worse than Paul Reed and not good enough to crack the rotation. 2K with this minor change has a significant impact on an entire team as a result.

2. Intangibles and 2K's Inability to learn
^These issues have been occurring even though Intangibles was added to the game what, five years ago??? They meticulously adjust this rating for players and yet they still can't get rotations & tiers down.

3. Arbitrary Adjustments
How did D'Angelo Russell go down 2 OVR while Austin Reaves (82 OVR) was unscathed? Reaves has been awful while D'Lo has been the Lakers 3rd best player.
Russell: 56 TS% (down from 61)
Reaves: 52 TS% (down from 69)

There are surely numerous other examples as we pick through. The Warriors have 8 Rating updates including numerous bench players. The big market Cali teams always get favored. When will the other 27 teams get comparable attention?

I love most of this update. Ausar Thompson has been playing mind blowing ball.

Dereck Lively II got the biggest boost I've seen since maybe Whiteside?

Maybe I missed why Lillard dropped a little. But oh well.

Ok I take this back. What did they upgrade here? Dude is getting crazy rebounds, blocks and steals. Rebound (58 and 60), Blocks (54) and Steal (82). But his defensive consistency is only (65). What did they change? Lol [emoji23]

Zion has been passing the ball way more this season. But no changes were made there. Defenses are walling up hard. His passing numbers are trending that way. I guess I expected a little balancing act. Keeping him in the same range. But changing it on the back end.

I'm still a little surprised by these ratings. I hoped Rashid would put me in my place with some stats and advanced stuff (I don't look at). Especially the rebounding ratings. Of any of the ratings I thought for sure would have gone up. It would have been those two.

Wemby ratings I couldn't even tell what was change. Anyone got what he started at?

Also why is Anthony Edwards stamina is 89?
