    Weekly Training; Too Easy?

Does anyone have house rules they follow when doing the weekly trainings? I feel like it’s almost too easy to get a player to a high overall by using them every week in training while getting gold.

I use Funky’s XP sliders as well, but I still seem to see a lot of overall growth from players. I’m curious if anyone has any ideas or rules they follow to keep it more realistic. Thanks!

Are you just playing the same drill over and over that you find easy for a specific position? Switch up the drills. If you can easily get gold in all of them, then just sim the trainings at that point if you'd like more variety. If you don't get gold in all of them, then play the drills that are more difficult for you.

I personally have a number of drills I can basically gold every time, others I cannot. Whenever I get a gold, I make sure the next drill I do is one I don't regularly gold and vice-versa.

That’s smart, I usually switch between offense and defense every other week. I don’t hold them all and usually limit myself to one try per drill, whatever happens, happens. Kind of like a good week or bad week of practice.

I was just curious if anyone else had something better they used to make it more realistic than I what was doing - I appreciate your feedback, so thank you!

I don't user any of the drills usually if I have a player as my focus. Maybe on bye week I will play a weekly training to get gold but otherwise every week I just sim and get the bronze.

You don't get XP for the mini game if you sim it. Whatever you do in the drill is added to your total XP but it doesn't show up on the weekly summary. The 300 focus XP is in addition to the XP you get for the actual drill.

Have you confirmed this by looking at the player's XP before and after simming the drills?

Yes. Because I was getting a gold medal in the mini game but in the progression history the 750 didn't show up. So I checked the XP for a player and then completed the mini game and the XP was awarded. So if you do the mini game you get the XP from that and then 300 XP for the focus plus whatever extra you get from the training.

                This is correct.

I just did some testing and got some odd results.

I looked at each player card of the 3 Focus Players I had for the weekly training and marked down their XP before doing the weekly strategy. Then, I jotted down what the recap screen showed they earned for the Drill XP, the Bonus XP, and the Focus XP.

After that, I went back to their player cards and recorded what their new XP balances were and the math actually did not add up.

My LG had 959 XP before practice was ran. Afterwards he had 1,667, an increase of 708. However, the recap screen had shown he received 200, 245, and 300 for the Drill, Bonus, and Focus XP's. That adds up to 745 meaning he lost 37 XP at some point.

My RG had 6,451 before practice was ran. Afterwards 7,110, a gain of 659. The summary stated he earned 200, 196, and 300, a total of 696. Again, he actually earned 37 XP less than what the practice recap said he did.

Finally, my RT had 2,864 before practice and 3,464 afterwards for a gain of 600 flat. The summary said he earned 200, 133, and 300, a total of 633 which means he actually earned 33 less than what the recap said.

So, not only is it showing linemen at the least do not get any training drill XP when you sim the drills(which you have to since they don't have drills), but it actually looks like the practice recap screen isn't even giving accurate numbers for XP gains.

When I advance my franchise I will switch out one of the linemen for a position player with drills, simulate the drill, and do the same thing and see what the results are. 1) it is disappointing the linemen don't get any extra XP for simming drills, and 2) it is odd the summary recap is off. If the position players don't get additional XP when simming the mini-games that they do actually have, then it will make me question if the CPU teams are actually getting any mini-game XP like we were told they do pre-release. If not, that's a major advantage for the user.

I have always assumed that CPU teams never got those mini game points honestly… idk how they could.

Which is why I felt the team I was controlling always improved far quicker than teams around me.. which I suppose is why I asked the question to begin with lol.

Thanks for your research, I think I will hold off on doing any weekly trainings.

I saw someone say that for pre season training camp they only do rookies or second year players who weren’t starters the year before. That sounds like a good plan & I’ll skip the weekly’s … it’s too OP.

                      Re: Weekly Training; Too Easy?

The CPU could do it pretty easily, and we were told they do the training camp drills by a dev before, so you'd assume they do the weekly ones too. All EA would do is weigh the 3 results(Bronze, Silver, Gold) and then do a roll that shows which metal and thus XP reward each focus player got for that drill.

If there is a way to test and see if CPU teams are getting mini-game XP, I'd love to test it out. I'll have to think on it and see if I can figure it out.

Can’t you see each players XP Progression on each persons player card? It would be tedious but there’s a way you could chart the XP gained.

Or do a user control team with training set to automatic? Perhaps that could work..

The mini-game XP doesn't show on the player card even when you play them out.
