In my observation no. I have a drafted QB and they never say his name.

They will only say auto generated player names.

My QB is auto generated and they do not say his name. Always just generic statements like "being one of best in the league", etc. They never actually say his name.

This is not a hill I am going to die on, but the funny thing is that APF2k8 had that feature where if a name is in the name database, it was said by the announcer.

MLB the Show does as well. And they have a pretty extensive library of names. It's surprising while also not surprising Madden doesn't have this.

The further you get into franchise the less the commentary becomes relevant. The stories they tell are always about current NFL players. Once you get mostly created players there is no commentary/stories/achievements about them individually. It's always generic statements. Thus, presentation feels half done like the of the rest of the game. Hopefully, with the announcement of multiple broadcast teams they'll be able to get more depth in this area.

Yeah it's been the same for MANY years now for the most part, they say about 25 percent of the quarterback, running back or wide receivers names. Sucks tbh. But in my franchise I have some fun with it, the names they do say on offense become the stars/superstars

Never defense names.

In madden 19/20 when they first introduced custom draft classes you could edit offensive names to names that where in database. In 21 they changed it back that if you edit either first or last name you lose audio even if it’s a name they would say. Typical garbage EA always 10 years behind. Madden 01 had a crazy name database for both offensive and defensive. 24 years later and 4 consoles generations they blow.
