Will EA CFB 25 coming back impact whether you buy Madden this year?
Curious to hear everyone's approach to this. I've not been too happy with the lack of innovation for awhile in Madden so taking a year off is an easy decision. I can't see myself spending $70 worth of time on 2 football games this fall, so it's just going to be CFB 25 for me. That is unless Madden suddenly decides to improve the game (lol). Definitely not buying NCAA with EA set on exploiting college players
Tried Madden PC this year. The mods require constant updates and re-installs with EAs anti-cheat checker. And the game is ridiculously taxing on my system. At least one of those issues would have to be resolved for me to buy next year. And thats a poor bet.You want free speech?

I'll definitely be buying CFB day 1. Madden I typically get through EA Play Pro or whatever it is called on PC these days. However, if the CFB game is console only, that may lead to me actually buying Madden on consoles as well so that I can import my draft classes.
Maybe EA surprises us all and releases both for PC, but I won't hold my breath.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Will EA CFB 25 coming back impact whether you buying Madden this year?
Having deleted Madden a few days ago (tired of all the BS) I have no intentions of picking up Madden, as far as the college offering goes, I will be in "wait and see" mode, there are more than a few things I will need to see in order for me to even think about picking it up.
As I've previously mentioned in another thread, the college game already has a "built in" excuse if it isn't "up to par" with this offering.
I do know that I will NOT be buying both like I did with previous gens.
So I guess to answer your question, I'm not sure I'll pick up either one, and with football being my favorite sport, it sucks to have it come down to this..but it is what it is I guess.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Where are you getting both figures from? Also, why would expect the collegiate players to receive anywhere near the compensation the NFL players get? College football does not make near the money the NFL does, the game will probably not even sell half as much as Madden, and college football is significantly less player driven than the NFL is.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

EA Offering College Athletes $600 To Appear In New Football GameEA Sports is reviving its college football game series this year with EA Sports College Football 25, and now a major new detail about it has come to light. EA Sports confirmed to ESPN that it will offer athletes $600 for their name, image, and likeness (NIL) to appear in the game. The $600 offer will go out to the more than 11,000 FBS players, totaling more than $6 million if every player signs on. That is seemingly unlikely to happen, and it'll be interesting to see which players--high-profile or not--decide to opt out.

I don’t think this is a case of exploitation if they don’t have to be in the game. Now if it was part of some deal with the university that forced them too then yeah. Or even how it used to be when everyone knew it was based on the real player. Beyond that there are over 120 schools with at least probably 75 people per school. This game never sold as much as Madden. I’m 100% against taking advantage of people for things that are necessary to survive but for a video game if they don’t like it just don’t be in the game. If enough guys do it EA will reconsider if they want to make it or pay more to the players. Personally I’d buy it without any real players anyway.
In answer to the question will probably buy Day 1. At very least wait for 1st price drop to read some reviews and see how different it is. Madden will be what I did this year. Wait until it drops to $40 a few weeks after release unless it’s really bad and maybe finally skip a year.

Florio, PFT
49 schools cleared $100mil in revenue last year. Not including private schools like Duke and USC.

That only further proves that college football is not raking in as much money as the NFL. The NFL set their revenue goal to just under $30 billion. Each NFL team is clearing half a billion in revenue themselves at minimum. Not even half the colleges in football are making even $100 million in revenue.
And we are only talking revenue, not even net income, so while many of these programs bring in lots of money, they are spending even more, especially when you consider that due to title ix, these colleges have to carry a significant amount of non-profitable athletic programs to counter the football scholarship count and the football programs end up subsidizing these programs.
What would be a figure that would not be considered exploitation?“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

I think it would be dumb to opt-out. The game is going to go on with or without you. EA will still make their money while you'd be throwing away a free $600 that CFB plus a free copy of the game.Comment

Electronic Arts, the issue at hand, is valued at $37 billion.
What do you think Shedeur Sanders is going to think of that $600 dollar offer? I have little doubt what will happen when they try to put the likeness of any Colorado QB "in the game" next year.
I honestly don't know.
I think this is over before it has begun. EA went about this all wrong. The only way I see it getting done is 100% generic.Last edited by Madden08PCgmr; 02-22-2024, 12:28 PM.You want free speech?

Ok, Ok, we get it... you don't want there to be a CFB game. You just want another lawsuit. Can we move on and get back to the purpose of this thread?Comment

Yep. Shame on me for thinking players that make the game possible deserve more than this pathetic offer. You want free speech?
