Bringing Kotsay into it
I wish they could or would fix obvious commentary mistakes 🤦They call me Mr. Thread CoolerTags: None -
Re: Bringing Kotsay into it
This whole recording-every-line-in-a-studio-with-paid-actor thing is for the birds given what AI can already do. There are AI programs that can recreate Ernie Harwell to a tee; you’d just need someone to write the scrip. & I’d bet you could get some rando baseball autist to write you 385,000 lines for like a thousand bucks.
Like I was trying to say in the other thread about pitching deliveries: the game we want might be well on its way, but it ain’t happening with this code. Think PS7 instead, when AI really gets its teeth into this stuff.
For now? This is all still glorified PS3 stuff at best. Name a game that doesn’t fit that description, I’ll wait. Point being, yes, literally, for the time being, we just need to be happy with what we can get.
The next paradigm is coming. Just give a few more years.Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this. -
Re: Bringing Kotsay into it
Ever since they replaced Matt, I spend about three games with audio on, then switch to “on the field”. Which, tbh, I like just as well.

Re: Bringing Kotsay into it
And here I think 23's PBP and color was a drastic improvement over 22 with the new team.
I mean there are so many little tidbits on players from every team and I am in June and still hearing new stuff.
Shame on me for liking it.
Disagree.

Re: Bringing Kotsay into it
I think the problem is that they overuse Singleton, having him replace Plesac and DeRo. If Sony would dial it back a couple notches with Singleton, he'd be a lot better off for it. A picture tells a thousand words, so a little more silence here and there doesn't have to be a terrible thing. It seems instead they have asked Singleton to recite a 1000 word essay when a 120 character Twitter type response would work not only as well but better in my opinion whether it be Singleton or whomever does color commentary.T-BONE.
