What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 24 Edition)

You know the drill.

About an hour away from the live content feature premiere where we should learn more about Team Affinity, Live Series collection rewards and everything else.

Who's all in for early access? I have the Negro Leagues Edition preordered but it won't get here until Saturday. So I'll probably just cop the Digital Deluxe. The Game Pass bundle specifically states that you can't redeem multiple codes if you have that if I read right. In years past, if I got the physical and digital I got double the preorder packs. So either they changed that or it's just the Game Pass bundle and I might be out an extra 50 bucks haha. We'll see.

Had a long couple weeks at work and exhausted so will probably power nap until midnight and hop on.

What's everyone's early plans? Outside of some radical change to game modes I'll probably knock out all the easy tutorial stuff and then pick off any easy program progress I can make. I don't ever really hardcore grind TA stuff right at launch so I'll probably rip a bunch of packs and then start building the squad to take into the USA map.

Yeah, I got the game strictly for DD; my franchise will continue on '23 for now. Even if I only play DD for a couple of weeks, I'll still have gotten more out of the game than I do for many others....everything else on top of that is gravy.

Working tomorrow morning, but will dive-in at lunchtime tomorrow and through the weekend. I'll rip my early access packs, build a team and go straight into the US map...assuming it returns (it dang well better, lol)

I’m going to get the Game Pass add on. Going to try to stay up late tonight, not sure what I want to do first, I’ll probably only be able to play for an hour or so and still be able to wake up and be able to function at work tomorrow. As I’m typing this, I have the stream on and they just revealed Stan the Man as the conquest reward. I guess I know what I’m going for first.

Live Series collection being less impressive than usual makes sense since the season collections are obviously the big boppers.

Agree, but still can't say I'm more motivated to get cards this year. I really wanted some big name legends and the broadcast today fell short for me. Great adjustments, they continue to listen and make things a little easier, but the outcome of all that grinding is going to feel a little flat for me by comparison.

I checked out earlier than ever last year, so I’m looking forward to getting started tonight. I’ve probably only got an hour in me tonight so I can be functional for work tomorrow, and I’m not even sure where to start.

I watched the stream tonight and overall it seems like they listened and made steps in the right direction. I’m glad the power creep is back, but overall it feels a little underwhelming. Guess maybe I was expecting some surprise on the live stream, or some new legend they haven’t announced.

It does seem like the captain changes were a step in the right direction though, and think I’m just going to work towards a Yankees theme team this year. And maybe to start I’ve been thinking I may just take who I pull from packs into conquest and see what happens.

Opening night, servers down mid pack opening for like 45 mins lol.

My buddy and I just Bs'd etc. Ended up pulling 6 or 7 diamonds, 87 and 88's. I got the entire Mets collection done (shocker) and played 1 BR game which I won 1-0.

Diving into all the moments today, then US Conquest map, then other maps, etc.

I messed around in practice while the severs were down, it was disappointing that we can’t access the storyline mode while that was going on. In addition to Trout, I also pulled Donaldson and Y Alvarez. Once I was able to get back in, I played a couple conquest games and went to bed.

When I get home tonight I’m going to finish the climax of Lost Judgement’s Kaito Files DLC, order Chinese food, and then buy the GamePass deluxe upgrade to hop on early access.

The DD changes sound great on paper. Almost like it might be relatively chill this year and less grindy. Excited to see how that pans out.

Yeah I mostly did some random stuff after servers came back last night. I switched over to WWE 2K24 for a bit and then once servers woke up ripped pre-order stuff. Most of my pre-order stuff didn't actually populate until I rebooted app multiple times and I think I'm still missing like 20k Stubs and a diamond pack but I don't even really care now.

I bought Stubs last night to rip my annual two bundles and do the Braves collection and none of them actually hit my account until this morning. I'm waiting at an appointment right now so before leaving I ripped my packs, got my Stubs and hit bundles and did as well as I could expect. In total I think I got about half a dozen Diamonds. I'm focusing my remaining Stubs on the Braves collection then jumping back in to finish the Starter stuff.

Took Gibson with my first Barrier Breakers pack and MAN does his bat sound crazy. I haven't gotten a single hit yet but everything sounds like a nuke haha. I think I'm probably taking Satchel with my second. Took Johan with the Hyper pack.

Really struggling with the lefty Pinpoint gestures. I love the change but it's gonna take me a minute to adjust.

Only played offline but game looks good and feels good so far. Menus are lightning quick and pack/Conquest animations are the fastest they've ever been.

I'm really excited for the game this year. As long as content hits the pace they talked about I think this is going to be even better than last year.

Should probably try to knock out Storylines in the next two days, too.

Nothing on night 1 due to server errors. This morning I knocked out the starter missions. showdown and collections. Bought all of the Cardinals cards.

I then lost the Team Affinity Showdown and beat the first stage of the Spring Breakout showdown only to get an exception error while exiting and having the game tell me that I did not finish it and took away the victory and my 500 stub entry fee.

Just got in from out of town and opened my packs. Got LS judge and sold for like 150k or so, got a breakout meadows from a show pack. Also gotta chase pack but I got willy adames from it.

I did my settings, made a home jersey, and just navigated around some. Took Utley and dihigo from the preorder packs and have kept so far....not really worried about a team build at this point

Don't really care about babe Ruth so collection won't be a priority for me I don't think. Already at 183k stubs from selling stuff and luck judge opening.

I think I'll start with Jeter storyline and see what that's about then knockout all the moments. Still tired from long drive and limited sleep so won't jump into anything competitive before get caught back up on that
