Orioles August 1st Update

Orioles Notes:
- After a tepid June that saw the Orioles fall out of first place and fall 6 games behind the Rays, the O’s got back on track in July. Thanks to going 18-7 in July they are now just 1/2 game back of the Orioles and currently hold the #2 Wild Card Seed.
- The O’s sent 3 players to the All Star Game this year. C Adley Rutschman and IF Gunnar Henderson were both names starters for the AL squad. OF Anthony Santander also made the team as a reserve.
- 1B/DH Ryan O’Hearn has been placed on the IL with a fractured shin and will miss 1-2 months. Bad timing for the O’s and O’Hearn as he was the O’s hottest hitter at the time of his injury. The O’s have called up OF prospect Heston Kjerstad to take O’Hearn’s spot in the lineup.
- August looks to be a challenging month for the O’s. They open the month with 10 straight road games against quality opponents (CLE,TOR, TB). They also close the month with a road trip to World Series contending LA and a series at home vs. Houston.
