Wind in custom stadiums in franchise

I'm really enjoying the A's franchise I'm rolling with. I love the way the custom stadium I'm using came together, however... I've noticed that the wind at any of my home games is just out of control. At the low end, 9 MPH. Usually it's between 11-14 MPH, and I've had a few games where it's 18-20 MPH. Meanwhile when I'm on the road, winds are usually in the single digit MPH range, with the occasional double digit games.

Initially I thought that maybe since I had the city scenery as "Coastal", maybe it was factoring in gusts off the ocean or something. But, I changed it to "Small City", and I'm still having high winds like this every game.

Is this just a thing with created stadiums? I guess worst case scenario I can modify the wind slider before every home game, but it'd be nice to have 9-13 MPH be the exception and not the rule.

I'm not experiencing that in my created stadium. Could it be your location? I'm a relocated Reds franchise. Low end no wind at all. High end maybe 7-9 mph.

Hmm, I suppose it could be. I've got the location set to Oakland. Guess I'll mess around with some more stadium settings and see if I can get that down.

The city you type in the stadium creator menu doesn’t do anything. All weather data for custom stadiums is based on the home team in each game. This includes sunset time, rain frequency, and wind. If the A’s are the home team it’s pulling the real life data from Oakland.

To add on to this, if you’re playing with the Rays you will have no wind.

            Ohhhhh, interesting.

Ok, so there’s really not much I can do then. Good to know.

            Thanks for the explanation regardless!

Just curious. What about a relocated team?

I relocated the A’s to Las Vegas and used a created stadium in 23 and they had wind.
The Rays doesn’t have wind on created stadiums or most of the minor league parks in the game, Blue River is one of them I tried but I tried them at old Texas and there was wind. Keep in mind this was in 23.

This is correct. The fictional minor league stadiums, like created stadiums, pull data from the home team city because they have no set location. Current and classic MLB stadiums use the actual data of their location. I’m not sure how spring training stadiums work, before anyone asks.
