This will be a living document of sorts, just wanted to get it up now in case we get even more dynasty mode info today that maybe clarifies things further.

If you think we misspoke or put anything that doesn't quite align with what you've seen or read elsewhere please let us know, but this is one of those topics near and dear to OS folks' hearts so we thought it should be its own little thread.
I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). I write it, and it hits your inbox every Friday morning (for freeeeeee). We also have an official OS Discord you can now join.

I think I heard from either Matt Brown or Vannini that we couldn't create recruits/prospects either. I could see a potential issue with people recreating opt outs or unlicensed players, especially in online un-private dynasty. It's just unfortunate if we can't create recruits. In the past, there typically wasn't enough variance between recruits at the same positions. I just hope that there is enough different types of recruits. I know I saw that there will be 4000 prospects and 32 5 stars per class. So, I hope that there is good balance.

This is a lot like NIL. It would be cool and added features is always good, but at the same time I completely get why they aren't including it.

Tbh - I never did create recruits much, but I know folks did.

I’ll be fine if we can just edit the equipment on generic players.

I know we have a slew of equipment options for this game. My only question is can qw edit their equipment? Not a deal breaker but I would love to at least explore all of the equipment options they have on my current roster and "sauce" my players up the way I want.

While I never used the create a prospect feature, I did edit recruiting classes using the editors we had up here on OS. I'm all about having as many options as possible. With that being said, I totally get why EA is playing it safe, especially in year 1. I want this game to stick around, and if that means not ever being able to edit the real players until there is a players union then so be it. I do think that we should be able to edit the incoming AI generated players though. If they want to lock player names, even that's fine with me. But, all other info, equipment, and attributes...we should be able to edit to our hearts desire in my opinion.

I won't beat a dead horse but let's just say I'm really disappointed in the direction they took with the default rosters by removing editing.

Since NCAA much like Madden doesn't come with historic teams being able to edit current players was one of my favorite things to do.

I know you can create players but it would appear you won't be able to add that many created players to the existing rosters do to roster limitations in size.

Unless there's some kind of way you can drop players from rosters and created players replace each of those dropped players.

Team builder might be the best way to go this year. But it'll be interesting to see how many actual team builder teams can be imported into an actual dynasty your looking to play.

Crossing fingers they atleast give us the option to replace up to 24-32 teams in our offline dynasty with Team Builder created schools. Anything above that would be amazing and gravy on top.

Also with Barry Sanders opting out of EA football I wonder if that also plays a role in player creation

The one place I saw this mentioned specifically said "you can't edit attributes" but I think sometimes people use "attributes" as their height, weight, name, etc. and use "ratings" for player ratings.

I get why we wouldn't be able to change these things given how we got here, but the inability to edit ratings, equipment, jersey numbers OFFLINE in the privacy of my own home is such overkill. If I made Quinn Ewers the fastest man on the planet, and nobody knew that but me, who am I hurting? If I turned Travis Hunter into the greatest kicker of all time, does that impact anybody?

I would love this. If I'm a fan of a team that's not very good, I'd love to add /remove players BEFORE I start a dynasty mode. College Hoops 2k8 had the ability to add remove players from teams, essentially creating a free agent pool (those players would just not exist in legacy mode if not assigned to a team). We're already going to living a fake world where Arch Manning doesn't exist, why not be able to make Travis Hunter transfer to Boise State before starting a Dynasty?

But, what if I'm not disciplined enough to just play my offline dynasty in the privacy of my own home and I decide to livestream it on Twitch or YouTube with the edits I made? I'm sure they are thinking about things like that as well.

Streamers ruining it all for us again!

But couldn't there be a "this scene is blocked" or "recording paused" or something because edits were made?

I don't understand the difference between this and some star freshman on Ohio State right now who transfers in a Dynasty mode to Michigan. Would streamers not be allowed to stream that? It's a real guy on a different team then he is in real life. Wouldn't that be not in the initial NIL agreement? (a confusing sentence)

If the game sells well (which I think it will) then next year it will be on the PC.

Then everything changes in regards to what we can do with our product that we've bought. #MODS

I find it crazy we couldn’t edit equipment at the very least. I understand certain brands being locked in based on the team, but not having the ability for example to put long sleeves on a guy or even ankle tape seems wild to me.

I don’t actually understand what NIL problem there would be with us editing real player attributes or equipment. I get why we can’t rename them, or name people the same as real life opt outs, but I don’t see how us being able to adjust attributes would’ve been any sort of problem.
