Can we get rid of the home run celebration where the players act like they don’t care

Ryan Bliss hit his first career home run for the Mariners and everyone got up and got excited for him. But, if you do that in the game it’s that stupid thing where everyone acts like they are ignoring him at first then join in. Do we have to see that every time someone hits their first one??

I'd probably turn my head and get a drink of water or bite of something if I didn't want to see it and knew it was inevitably coming.

It’s funny you mention this because the Guardians literally just did this celebration yesterday. Brayan Rocchio hit his first career home run and the team all ignored him and randomly celebrated with Hedges instead until finally celebrating with Rocchio

But I totally agree that they shouldn’t use that every single time someone hits their first homer

It’s pretty much tradition though. Most teams do this for guys first home runs and have been doing it for years.

I use manage mode in franchise and I use fast play to speed things up between pitches and at bats. I'd prefer a return to zero cut scenes. In 2023 after the first pitch of each at bat they added a cut scene.

I suspect they have a developer assigned to making cut scenes that they think we all want to see. Similar to patches that change a player's hair style or add another uniform instead of working on franchise needs like y2y saves.

Don't a lot of teams do this in real life though? Throughout a whole season I probably only experience a handful of guys hitting their first HR so it's not that big of a deal to me.

I don't believe they think we all want to see those cutscenes. I assume they decide on the ones that resonate most with their target audience. If you don't care for their choice of cutscenes, you're probably not the target audience.

Why not an option to turn off cut screens? They have an option for fast play. They have an option to turn off the countdown clock between pitches. Would that be too heavy a lift to program?

I assumed fast play did skip cutscenes. I ask because I don't know, I play full broadcast. I used to hate the animation where after an inning was over, the pitcher would hop over the chalklines. I became so good at ignoring, I didn't even see it anymore. I guess they even eventually retired it, I haven't noticed it in forever.

It was the relief pitcher dropping his glove when he got to the mound that always got me. I think that one is gone as well.

With fast play option that reduces them and the ability for the user to skip them, it seems that programming an option to turn them off completely would be a waste of resources.

No fast play doesn't skip cutscenes, at least not all of them. The most irritating is the one after the first pitch of each plate appearance. Same cutscene to the batter.

The worst was the six second countdown clock. I wore out the x button on my controller pushing it. They did finally include an option to turn it off so they do listen sometimes if enough pressure is applied.

It's still a great game with a few minor things that could be fixed and might be over time. The most frustrating thing is the problems that crop up with the new release of the game that weren't there before. Fix what needs to be fixed and leave the rest alone. I'll stop complaining. It's a great game.

If we're getting rid of things, let's get rid of baserunners diving back to the bag every time there is a pitch out or ball in the dirt
