The upgrade is complete, but you've probably noticed the forums are only showing posts up to about April 8. Posts made after that are still in the process of being moved over, and that should take another week or two. Feel free to start a new thread.
The site might feel a little slow while work continues. Engineers are staying on it through the night to get things moving faster again. Thanks for your patience.
Are you also aware that physical discs are nothing more than license keys?
The notion of "owning" a game in a physical format has also deteriorated over the years. Most physical games serve as license keys that still need to occasionally check in with a remote server. Unless you're buying a PC game without DRM (like games from GOG), or physical games for legacy consoles, you don't really own your own games.
I've been Digital for 10+ years now. just prefer having all my games ready without having to swap disc. on my PC I have a 8TB SSD that has all my games installed on so i never have to re-download them. my Xbox, I have a 4TB external drive, and recently got the 2TB SSD external drive for the Series X.
Likely a digital copy on Series X and physical on PS5. I want a physical version mostly because of the significance of college football being back. I want this in my collection. This is my most anticipated game sense probably RDR2
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.
Great convo. Probably should have done a poll. Lo siento!
I'm leaning digital, like I do with every game, but it is always nice to have a physical copy. I still have NCAA 14 and College Hoops 2k8 and I'm glad I do!
I went for both the Deluxe and physical copy. Me being a collector and the game being away for 11 years, needed a physical copy to enjoy. Also me being a custom cover guy, always an incentive to get the game and case.
What do you do if your system totally crashes? I’m guessing you can sign on to a new device and redownload your games?
Whatever you do, absolutely positively make sure you know what email address your PlayStation or Xbox account is tied to. I had no idea they were tied together, I made the mistake of thinking the digital download was tied to my PlayStation console. Big mistake on my part.
It's just the first star you see at night
Don't walk around feeling hazy
If you need a taste, take a bite.
Physical copy. Gotta have that case. And my son does mostly downloads. My PS4 is already so full, it won't do the Gran Turismo Sport update. Besides, I want the new football game buried with me.
