Re: Uniforms
We haven't heard anything about a concept of a defined uniform schedule so I doubt that is in.
If it's similar to Madden, the CPU logic for uniform selection is based on random chance. I imagine in CFB this might be additionally affected by whether a game is a rivalry game or national game of the week.
In Madden, the user always has the option to choose the CPU team's uniforms, so I have to imagine that will be available here as well. -
Re: Uniforms
They did say they know when certain alternates will be worn in real life, along with some that haven't even been revealed yet. And that they'll add those when they're allowed to.Boston Red Sox

Re: Uniforms
I honestly can't remember a console sports game which has gated real-life alternate uniforms behind a DLC paywall since NCAA Football 14 released.
Ultimate Team uniforms? Sure, those are paywalled. But I would expect any uniform a team wears in real life which EA Sports has the ability to put in the game to be added to Play Now, Dynasty, and Road To Glory free of charge, as has been the case for the past umpteen Madden games.Comment

Re: Uniforms
Yeah, I doubt they'll do that. They never made us pay for new Madden alternates. 2K, MLB The Show, NHL, EA FC, they all add alternate uniforms/kits/sweaters/throwbacks etc without charging for them. I think those days are over. Obviously EA will monetize the crap out of UT in whatever ways they can. But I don't expect to be paying extra for uniforms anymore.I honestly can't remember a console sports game which has gated real-life alternate uniforms behind a DLC paywall since NCAA Football 14 released.

Re: Uniforms
It was halfway sarcastic, but with the amount of money people spend on absolute BS, I wouldn't be shocked for EA to 1) try it, and then 2) people try to justify their BS.
When they can generate about $4.5 billion on this microtransaction BS, it proves people spend on absolute BS and then try and justify their position.
So roll your eyes over to the page below:
https://www.statista.com/statistics/...ds%20franchise.
"In the fiscal year 2024 (April 2023 to March 2024), gaming publisher Electronic Arts generated approximately 4.46 billion U.S. dollars in revenues from extra content sales with almost half of it being associated with the company's sports games Ultimate Team mode as well as extra content for the Apex Legends franchise. According to the company, extra content revenue has increased as players engage with games and services over longer periods of time, and purchase additional content designed to provide value to players and extend gameplay."Comment

I don’t care if microtransactions are in the game. People can like what they want, and blow money on whatever they desire. I’ve no reason to think they’ll be outside the card collecting mode, because they haven’t been in Madden, NHL, EA FC, hell even in UFC they’ve added dozens of free fighters and the only paid DLC are specially licensed fighters.
Card collecting modes are in every sports title. But 2K has been far more predatory with their microtransactions than EA. At the end of the day, I haven’t bought a single microtransaction in a sports title since the uniform packs in 14. It has never once hindered my ability to play franchises, in any game, or my enjoyment of the modes that I care to play.
What’s the justification? You linked it. They’re a business. They’re making money. That’s called a successful business model. Do I like it? Personally, no. Do I give them that type of business? Nope. As I said. Those uniform packs are the only microtransactions I ever paid for in a sports title. But honestly, you look pretty ridiculous here. First you make an entirely unfunny, hyperbolic joke. Then you link an article that justifies the thing you’re screaming about being unjustified. That article completely validates what they’re doing in the eyes of any business that wants to be financially successful lol. You should be mad at the millions of people forking over money, if you want to point the finger at anyone. But that isn’t me (outside of the cost of the game), so you’re snarkily preaching to the choir.
I’m not a fan of greedy CEO’s, or EA the publisher. But I enjoy the games their teams develop, and I will continue to purchase them. Because as you’ve illustrated, me not participating in microtransactions has had zero effect on them as a business. So I will continue to enjoy what I do about their games, and continue to not care what others choose to blow money on.
And no, they won’t include the idiotic microtransactions you paranoid folks insist they will. We’ve had dozens of people who were at the event, and EA themselves, say there will not be microtransactions in dynasties. They’ve also said they’ll be including all uniforms that teams use this season, even if it can only be after they’ve been revealed. Being hyperbolic about this stuff doesn’t help the argument. Have you seen this game that came out recently called ‘First Descendant’? You wanna talk about predatory microtransactions, there’s your actual example. Voluntary card collecting ain’t it.Last edited by GoDucks1224; 07-09-2024, 02:00 AM.Comment

Re: Uniforms
Hopefully this is the case for Dynasty mode. Along with newly released uniforms being added to pre-existing Dynasty files.

The funny thing is, this is the sort of DLC that wouldn’t bother me. Especially if they were like historical jersey packs.Teams: Minnesota Vikings, Cincinnati Reds, Marshall Thundering Herd, Virginia Tech Hokies (2010 alum)Comment
