Please help me pick my starter team for CFB25

I'm having a hell of a time figuring out who to start out with in dynasty.

I've decided to go with whoever wins this poll as they all seem intriguing to me. I'll just say that I'm going to be doing a career dynasty where I start as an offensive coordinator and work my way up.

So this starter team won't be my forever team unless I fall in love and get hired on as their HC.

So my final five candidates are:

    Kenesaw State
    Western Kentucky
    Navy
    Nevada
    Temple

Please weigh in and help my indecisive butt pick a team
    40
    Kenesaw State
    0%
    11
    Temple
    0%
    6
    Navy
    0%
    6
    Western Kentucky
    0%
    9
    Nevada
    0%
    8

    The poll is expired.

Of these, Navy for sure. Unless you are deadset on keeping the other four in the mix, I would point you in the direction of the MAC, and pick a team from there if you don't want Navy.
    T-BONE.

      Kennesaw State

      Pros:
-You get to recruit the state of Georgia. Which is obviously a plus, especially compared to the other teams listed.
-The novelty factor of it being their first year in FBS
-If you like to create your own story lines then you kind of take it as putting KSU, a team that has only been playing football for about 10 years, on the map.
      -Pretty uniforms
-They went 3-6 in FCS play a year ago. This is a MAJOR rebuild if you like that kind of thing.

      Cons:
-Fifth Third Stadium only holds about 10k people. Probably won't be making it into the toughest places to play
-They went 3-6 in FCS play a year ago. This is a MAJOR rebuild, if that kind of thing concerns

Nothing wrong with the other options you listed. I'm just biased.

For whatever reason, I never enjoyed playing with MAC teams. I just find that conference so mediocre it's not fun.

Honestly, Kenesaw was the team I was going to do it with. I was convinced of that for about a month. But yeah, the stadium being unimpressive has kind of eroded that.

That's the biggest reason Temple is on here. Big stadium could turn into an interesting home game if I can get them gud.

Fair enough. I'm starting off with Army as OC and I plan on taking the first MAC HC job I'm offered. Then I want to parlay that into the Syracuse job until I retire.

My dream school is Nebraska. I get offered the head job there, I'm there for the rest of my career.

Nevada all day. I went to grad school there so I follow the program.

They are coming off back to back 2 win seasons with a stretch of 16 straight losses across the years. This led to the coach being fired so they have a brand new coach coming in this year.

The roster has a couple interesting QBs on the roster including a dual threat Colorado Xfer and Brock Purdy's younger brother.

Nevada has been struggling to find a coach since Ault retired, a pioneer of the Pistol offense who consistently had the program punching above its weight.

You have 3 solid rivals: UNLV who you play for the Fremont Canon (the largest rivalry trophy in the FBS, it's a full size canon that is painted the colors of the winning team for the year). Boise, the bully of the conference who you can consider the final boss of the mountain west. Colorado State, a very recent rival after their current coach Jay Norvell left Nevada for another in conference team and took nearly half of the roster with him. That mass exodus of talent 3 years ago is directly responsible for having only 4 wins since.

Lastly, Nevada's Top Hat Wolf secondary logo is infinitely better than NC State's and I will fight you about it.

For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack!

MAC - option but with an eye to shifting to pro style.

Yeah, I'm a Husker fan and Chubba Purdy being there is basically why they're on the list. Also always had a special place in my heart from back when Nate Burleson was putting up insane numbers.

You have made a solid case for them beyond that though. I think Nevada was last on my list, but they're competing for 1st now.

These rankings align with what I would say given OP's initial post. Navy and Temple allow you to stay on if hired as a HC and stadium size and tradition gives you enough to be competitive as you build the program. However if your eye is on Nebraska at the end of the day, stadium size should not matter for initial start. You do your job and move up the ranks. Western Kentucky has a good offense and would be the easiest(dope mascot though). Kennesaw is starting from the bottom of the barrel.

I'd go with either Navy or Temple, with Nevada being my 3rd choice. If my statement is accurate, Kennesaw and Western Kentucky have smaller stadiums while Temple, Navy, and Nevada all have at least 30k capacity.

Especially if Temple's still playing at the Eagles stadium, you could potentially get that place packed and rocking after some quality seasons of football.

Additionally with Temple, you'd have to fight with Pitt and Penn State in-state for recruits. Finally, with conference realignment, you could even put Pitt, Temple, Syracuse, Rutgers, Penn State, etc. into a logical "Big East" type conference that would have historic story lines throughout your entire Dynasty as you want to eventually make it to Syracuse.

(As a side note, I'm completely redoing the AAC with a North and South division and putting the Northeastern teams in the North, and Southeastern teams in the South. As someone living in the Northeast, I'm thinking I will also take a Northeastern team to use in my Dynasty. I like the challenges of the Northeast's lack of talent compared to the South, West, Ohio, Michigan areas of the country. I hope to get those 2 and 3-star's and build them up having them overachieve.)

Being a mid major and the Hilltoppers mascot is basically why Western Kentucky is on there. You've got a point about not needing a bigger stadium if I' eventually heading to Nebraska. Of course, I'd need to be offered there.
