Have some stadiums been nerfed in Franchise Mode?

I'm playing on 23, so this could be an issue that's been resolved in 24, and I'm sorry if its an obsolete question. But playing every pitch of my Cubs franchise now in mid-June, the difference in batting at Wrigley compared to most other parks is just over the top and unrealistic.



As a team, my top seven batter have hit 18 HR/91 RBI at home, and 61/191 on the road, in the same number of games and a very close number of at bats per guy. Even on days where its warm and the wind is blowing out, there is almost no life in the bats, and I hit a ton of weak fly balls, and when I really hit it on the screws it often just goes to the warning track. This is especially so with right handed hitters, who have only 3 HR in 37 home games, all of them just over the fence.



Playing on the road feels normal, compared to all of the other past versions of the Show that I've played ****** back to the start of the PS3 era. But Wrigley is just dead. Is anyone else seeing anything like this?

I never really saw that with my franchise with the Mets. It’s usually just coincidence. Mind you CitiField was more of a pitchers park so I had less HRs at home vs on the road, but there other than ballpark effects/altitude, there isn’t any nerfing going on.

FWIW I don’t get how you could have any genuine amount of experience with this game (as I know you do) and not understand this as a timing issue.

If I had to guess, you’re having more success on the road than at home because you’re more relaxed on the road (expecting to lose, as it were, even subconsciously) whereas you’re experiencing much more pressure at home and thus forcing things.

You can’t play baseball with your teeth clenched. Relax a little bit. Stop caring and these numbers will correct.

It is also possible you are just not seeing the "ball" as well in the day games at Wrigley due to contrast issues?

I actually always have a lot of success hitting at Safeco. Its one of my favorites. So much room in the outfield.

I haven't played there much, what with being the Mets and all, but I wouldn't want to be Oakland, Texas, Houston or the Angels and play against Seattle regularly. Because in two years of everybody playing everybody, I'm sleepless and pretty much hitless in Seattle. I'm not sure even if I were the M's, I would get used to hitting there. Which is a shame because its a beautiful stadium. But don't go by my opinion, I think Oakland Coliseum and St. Pete's Trop are great stadiums too (In the Show, anyway).

For many years, when I've done a dynasty as anyone other than the Cubs, its usually been with Seattle. In part because they have my favorite uniforms, in part because they're in the AL, and in part because I just like hitting in their stadium, which I find very comfortable, between the lighting, batters eye, etc. I hit lots of singles and doubles, which often drop in front of the outfielders, and homers down the line aren't too hard for pull hitters from either side, IMO.



The places where I really struggle are Dodgers Stadium, San Francisco, Oakland, Comiskey, Kaufmann, and Yankee Stadium. I also have trouble at Miller Park if its sunny and the roof is open, but other configurations are very manageable.

I just started playing a new franchise with 24, after claiming it with PS+ last year when it was one of the monthly games. I figured that I'd share that I'm again having the exact same experience.



One month in, 26 homers by my team on the road, 5 at Wrigley. And three of those five are by one left-handed pull hitter.



Whether the wind is blowing in or out, its like its always actually blowing in. Whether that's an actual bug or just my bad luck, or whether its a combination of things including my sliders and playing on Veteran+ difficulty.

It’s not a bug. It does simulate weather/elevation, so since it’s colder you’ll see less HRs. But more than likely it’s a batters eye issue. Wrigley is tough to hit at, especially during the day. I struggled there previously but usually hit a decent amount of HRs when I did actually hit. It’s probably just trying a slightly different batting camera or just practicing looking at different release points.

I definitely have trouble with Wrigley's batters eye during day games, that could be factoring in. It's not as bad as Target Field but it's up there for me

Well, I've been playing at video game Wrigley for a long, long time though. Thousands of games over the years. Its home. This was not an issue for me in The Show on the PS3 or the PS4 ever. And its not a contact/batting average issue. Its exclusively a power thing, where the ball just does not carry, and even "perfect" hit high fast balls usually die as fly outs, or if I'm lucky as doubles. At home, I never get the "cinema camera" for HRs either. If they make it, its always still questionable until its over the fence.



In years past in the game, I would regularly launch them into the street and even over the new board in RF regularly. Stating in April and going all year unless the wind is blowing in hard.

Some stadiums are just harder to see the ball. I have never been able to hit in the Trop.
