    Fiesta Bowl in Video Games?

I didn’t know where else to ask this, I figure you guys would know. Has the Fiesta Bowl appeared in any of the video games? (Any NCAA, Gamebreaker, 2k game?)

I have noticed it’s always replaced by a fake bowl like the “Gamebreaker Bowl” or “Visual Concepts Bowl” in the games I have played

Pretty sure the Fiesta Bowl has been in many of the EA NCAA games, and will also be in CFB25.

The Fiesta Bowl has been on the game since EA Sports College Football USA 96 (1995)

God, how times have changed in 30 years. Crazy to look at the back of that box and the 7 conferences listed in the game, then looking at where they are now.

            5 of those 7:
            1 Big 8
            2 Big East
            3 SWC
            4 WAC
            5 PAC 10

And I didn't realize the Big 10 wasn't in this game.

That game had a playoff. See, all ea ever does is take old features and dust them off and sell them as new again /s

The Big 8 is the Big 10
SWC (Southwest Conference) is now the Big 12

Wrong. The Big 10 wouldn't allow their name to be used.

The final Big 8 members were:

                  Colorado
                  Iowa State
                  Kansas
                  Kansas State
                  Missouri
                  Nebraska
                  Oklahoma
                  Oklahoma State

                  The Southwest:

Arkansas (left for SEC in '1992)
                  Baylor
                  Houston
                  Rice
                  SMU
                  Texas
                  Texas A&M
                  TCU

False, the Big 8 is the conference that merged with the SWC to make the Big 12.

The Big Ten was still the Big Ten back then. It's been the Big Ten since 1951.

Re: Fiesta Bowl in Video Games?

In February 1994, the Southeastern Conference announced that they would be leaving the CFA and negotiate independently for a television deal that covered SEC schools only. This led The Dallas Morning News to proclaim that "the College Football Association as a television entity is dead". In 1995, the SEC and the Big East broke from the CFA, signing a national deal with CBS. The SEC would earn a then-staggering $95 million from the deal. More significantly, this change in television contracts ultimately would lead to significant realignment of college conferences, with the SWC's demise triggering the first major realignment. (After the SWC's demise, another major realignment took place in the mid-2000s, with an even more dramatic realignment in the early 2010s and a third one now ongoing.)

Arkansas' departure for the Southeastern Conference marked the beginning of the end for the Southwest Conference. After this announcement, Metro Conference members Tulane and Miami were both seriously considered by the SWC to join the conference as replacements for Arkansas. In March 1994, Texas, Texas A&M, Baylor, and Texas Tech accepted invitations to join with the members of the Big Eight Conference to form the Big 12 Conference. Soon afterward, Rice, SMU, and TCU accepted invitations to join the Western Athletic Conference, while Houston became a charter member of Conference USA. The Bayou Bucket game between Houston and Rice was the last football game played in the conference. In May 1996, after the completion of championship matches in baseball and track & field, the Southwest Conference was officially dissolved.

So I assume they had a generic name for the Big 10 conference since all the teams were in the game. Does anyone remember what it was called?

I fired it up to see and they basically just don’t mention the conference name at all. I started an Ohio State season and it had them playing what is probably an accurateish schedule with B10 teams, but back then there weren’t really conference championship games so I think it just didn’t really factor the conference in for anything. I’m not sure what difference the conferences that were included made; maybe just field art and a logo in conference games.
