I believe if you have Gamepass then you have EA Play. And EA Play gives you 10 hours of trial with the full game. What isn’t clear is when exactly that trial period starts. It should be no later than July 16, however.

Once the 10 hours has been completed you will have to wait until July 19 to purchase and play the full game to play more.

Sloppy release. There's a lot of confusion surrounding when the trial starts.

No, it's been rather formal compared to past titles and the fallout we have all witnessed through social media. EA named the days and times, and those have not changed.

Perhaps the sloppiness is in how many folks hold an illogical amount of others to such high standards for information accepted as truth when they should, instead, demand accountability from those that recklessly pass rumors for the sake of hearing their own voices.

No, EA announced the 19th as the release date. We knew it would be a part of the usual EA Play 10 hour trial, which is typically 3 days prior to release. Then, after a bit longer they dropped a deluxe bundle and edition but never really said when. It was at the bottom of their website and the date first said the 16th. It was the consoles themselves that leaked the 15th as a date to play early when you go to the preorder page for digital deluxe edition.

To this day EA hasn’t clarified if the 10 hour trial would possible start on the 15th with the deluxe edition or what time exactly on the 16th the trial will be available. That’s literally tomorrow and nobody officially knows still.

And you have to consider the fact that there are a lot of older gamers getting back into things with no clue how any of this works. So EA’s lack of defining things with certainty and clarity left a lot of people confused and allowed rumors to run rampant online. It takes all of two seconds for the company to come out and list a time and date and explain what version comes out when. Instead, they just kept offering deluxe versions through different vendors. The people who ordered through brick and mortar or online stores with shipping will be shocked if they can’t play until the weekend or even beyond. It’s a real mess. And it didn’t have to be this way at all.

If you want to play the game today at 4pm eastern, just purchase the MVP edition, Gamepass is NOT required at all.

What Gamepass will do however (with Gamepass Ultimate) is give you access to EA Play, and you will get a 10% discount on the MVP edition as well as EA games in general.

Almost forgot...you can also play the Deluxe addition today at 4 as well, same as above..Gamepass is NOT required, only if you want a discount with GP Ultimate.

I hope your foundation of life remains stable through this challenging event that EA has brought upon you by releasing a cherished sports title after a decade. You should consider writing to them to express the turmoil caused and your distaste for their poor approach.

I'm sorry, I know that sarcasm was a little much. I'm nearly 40, daily recovering from a TBI (traumatic brain injury) I sustained two years ago while also juggling whether I will likely have one or two seizures every passing day. I am pretty tickled and highly optimistic about being able to play a AAA college football video game again on this generation's systems and technology.

I find it difficult to empathize with people who complain about various difficulties in their lives while ignoring the overwhelming blessings around them that they take for granted.

I’m sorry for your struggles. But this is not a difficulty for me, personally. It is more likely in the realm of in my line of work excellence is expected. If it is not met the system doesn’t work as well as it should. I expect billion dollar corporations to be at, or near, that same level in regard to delivering their product or services. If you’re not explaining things to your consumers and making it as clear as day and easy to understand and obtain the desired products and results, then you’re essentially failing on some levels.

We used to hold companies accountable and rewarded great products and top services with our hard earned money. Everyone deserves to be treated as though their time and money are valuable. When things aren’t clear then people’s time is wasted.

As for your sarcasm, if you read my statement and understood it to be true, which everything I stated in it was provable as fact, then I can’t imagine why your retort needed to be sarcastic in any way. In fact, I’d say that as a person who has dealt with as much as you stated you have, kindness and empathy would likely get us all a lot further in life.

EA Sports College Football 25 unlocks for preorders in a little under 14 hours. The EA Play trial will unlock on the 16th. Let's be decent to each other and enjoy the game.
