I fear it won't be any of those two years. I have to play NHL 09 (which is fun nonetheless), so lets hope we won't have to wait too long.

I don't think a AAA studio will ever make a PC hockey game again. Our only hope is another studio or indy developers makes a game akin to Axis Football, or someone can turn one of the old console games on emulator into one.

I would guess not this year or next a lot of resources probably went into college football and again other games will suffer because of that cash cow.
It makes sense if that has occurred but it is disappointing nonetheless

Can we work on getting a legit next-gen console title first? Nothing about 22,23 or 24 scream next gen compared to the PS3/XONE versions. As for PC, maybe 2029. That'll be 20 years from the last time it was released on PC.

The devs did comment on EA forums recently that they were looking at the platforms for release, obviously this doesn't confirm anything but at least its a consideration. I personally don't think we'll see it happen but you never know! Its one of the most asked questions before release every year and EA did change a lot of the dev team for 24.

We won't even see next gen on consoles for quite a few years. I doubt PC will ever get a current gen release tho. Too small of a fan base

I agree with you, I mean we are talking a couple hundred to a couple of thousand... That is hardly enough to recover the R&D for the game... They don't want to go underwater on the game... It blows for PC gamers, but I don't see it happening again...

Even the console version sells pretty poorly compared to all the other sports titles. It does suck , I remember being a kid playing on pc with all the great mods.

While that's fair, but we as customers made it loud and clear that nobody buys NHL games except for a small percentage of die hard fans of the game of hockey. Which is why EA Sports don't make NHL for the PC.
