    Custom Playbook Audibles

Can you not choose any play from your custom playbook to assign as an audible like you could in NCAA 14? When I try to assign my audibles it only allows me to choose from the plays I have in that formation. In 14 I could use audibles to change formations. Am I not noticing something?

I haven't messed around with custom playbooks, but usually how audibles now work in the game is you can't switch between personnel groups. So you can't go from like a Maryland I to 5-wide. But if it's a 11 (1 RB, 1 TE, 3 WR) personnel, you should be able to go to any other 11 personnel formation.

      there's no need for speculation
the game has been out for a week now. You CANNOT audible like that in NCAA25. Its for the formation only, not personnel groupings

Hmm, o.k. thanks for the explanation. I'll try some more tinkering, I just know in 14 I used to run out of the I formation and switch to Shotgun Empty for some of my audibles.

I noticed that even changing audibles for formations specific that they don't stick sometimes (online games). Load into game, change audibles, head to line, audibles are the default ones. Takes two or three times for it to stick, even went a game where they wouldn't stick at all. Weird.

Yeah that's definitely not going to fly, they took that sort of thing out years ago.

They took it out of Madden years ago? I don't play much Madden as I prefer my old copies of NCAA 13 & 14.

Yeah it was something that was so easily exploitable and unrealistic that it was removed from Madden a long time ago at this point. Switching between like a 3 TE set to 5 WR just didn't make sense.

There are some empty SG formations with 11 personnel, so you can no huddle switch between those and normal 11 I formations. Dunno if there are empty 12 SG formations or not.

Is it possible to use custom playbooks while playing online? I don't see the option to change playbooks or anything in the screen where you choose your team

Which made the Patriots playbook so great to use! They would run a lot of ace formations and then in game would hurry up and go empty backfield out of the ace personnel. I like how EA has it with the no huddle and personnel groupings, it's more realistic.

Funny enough real life formations don't work the way they do in EA games as the Gronk/Hernandez Era showed here. We ran the same offense but just plugged those guys into our 3 and 4 wide sets because of their skillsets and haven't had a TE capable of that since let alone 2. This required special formations in Madden but wouldn't IRL. My point is there is very little reason you shouldn't be able to go from a singleback ace type formation to a 4WR style one beyond the game can't really handle it well. What should really happen is the out of position players get correctly punished for being used outside their skillsets (FBs at WRs and vice-versa) which inherently makes you not want to do this if you don't have the talent for it.

Yeah but by your own explanation, they were running those sets because they had two mutant TEs already out there who could run any route and couldn't be guarded by like-sized players anyway. I'm not disagreeing with the general point you're making, just that exceptions to the norm aren't always the best reason not to make a common sense change that was mainly just used as an exploit in the video game itself.

I agree with you it's healthier for it to be done this way I just get salty as someone that recruits move TEs but can't move them. I always wanted a compromise where you could move up to lighter personnel in audibles (11>10>00) but not down to heavier personnel (11>12) to make it somewhat ok since it cuts out the need to have Spread and Spread Y-Slot be two different formations for the sake of audibles and HUNH.
