Accelerated Clock Bug (If You Set It Above 17 Seconds)

Is it just me, or is the accelerated clock glitched?

I have mine set to 25 (on 9-minute quarters). When I break the huddle, sometimes it's at 25, but often it's at 20 or below. I've double checked the settings to make sure it should be at 25.

One other question, in the settings it says accelerated clock is disabled in Dynasty mode. Is that true?

So I'm playing another exhibition game now. I have it turned off. First half everything was fine. Just started the second half and it's running down to 15 before each play.

Checked the settings and it's still off. Checked my coach settings and my tempo is still normal and not to chew clock. I don't know.

Anybody else noticing some wonkiness with the accelerated clock?

Mine is set to 20 and I've noticed many times when I break the huddle it is down to closer to 15 seconds than it is 20 and I know for a fact chew clock is off and I had picked my play way before it was even down to even 25 seconds. Seems bugged, but I wasn't sure what was going on.

It's bugged in such a way where I'm coming up with theories where like it seems to work better if I set to 15 rather than 20 seconds haha.

I use it in dynasty with no issue.

I have it set to 15 and it behaves as expected.

That's good to know. It didn't make any sense for it to not be in dynasty mode. But that's what it says in the main menu settings.

I submitted a bug report, so hopefully they look into what's going on with accelerated clock.

I also hate that inside the two-minute warning it's turned off. They finally changed that in Madden a few years ago.

I don't like this either. If the the CPU completes a big play down field for example, they are lined up at the LOS within one second of game time.

Okay it is bugged btw, but only up until 15 seconds. So if you pick 20 seconds, you'll actually break with closer to 17 sometimes. If you do 25, I've seen it break with 15 on the extreme end. Same deal for 19 seconds.

If you set it to 15, it does break the huddle as it changes from 16 to 15.

-18 does not work right
-17 seems to work, thus 16 likely works.

Just throwing a wild idea out there, I admit I have not tested this at all and it is based off of absolutely nothing — has anyone tested whether accelerated play clock runoff is in any way affected by quarterback composure?

Scott O’Gallagher did tweet that there were several unannounced minor gameplay features which didn’t appear in the Gameplay Campus Huddle blog. For whatever reason, this is jumping out at me as a candidate for such a feature.

I know it’s a wild thought, and it’s very likely I’m looking for something that isn’t there, but maybe worth a sanity check if nothing else.

In Dynasty, without accelerated clock, first play of drive clock always starts with less than 20 seconds. Not sure if that is true IRL except the start time seems random.

Accelerated clock is in dynasty.

I've got it set to 12 and it creates a very fast pace environment. I sometimes will hurry up to slow things down.
