    EA College Football 26 Wishlist

After a week with the title, I have played enough to know that this game is a gem. I plugged in Armor’s sliders with my pass defense jacked up and I am having a ball. I play another game but I always find myself back on CFB 25. I play with UNC in Dynasty mode, playing at Virginia and noticing the stadiums architecture is something . I just appreciate the diversity and uniqueness of everything with college football. I expect the bugs (obstructed field goal meter XBSX) to get ironed out for CFB 25.

Looking forward though, I’d love to see a few things in CFB 26.

NCAA: I don’t care for the organization but I feel like a bit of authenticity is missing from the game without it. Leave them out though if it means some wholesale changes to the game. They ain’t that important!

Major Awards: The Heisman is the most prestigious but I’d still like to all the others like Doak Walker as well.

Draft Import: Hopefully the legalese can ironed out and we can import our entire Road to Glory and Dynasty class to Madden. It sucks to battle with friends and foes for years in college only for them to disappear once you go pro.

College Gameday like show: Every Saturday should feature a Gameday show at the marquee game stadium where the crew preview games and makes predictions. It’s sucks that Desmond Howard is only heard in Ultimate Team. Put a College Hoops Tonight like show together with the whole crew.

NCAA 14 Dynasty hub: The dynasty hub is bland compared to NCAA 14 and hey both feature the same information. It is just presented better and more immersive in NCAA 14.

Spring Game: In the offseason let us play spring games to get a feel for our new players.

    Formation Subs / Mass Subs

Defensive Holding + Pass Interference animations versus just the DB bumping into a WR being the only DPI we see.

Scouting not being a little more "gray". I don't want to see as much info as we do. I limit myself to scouting equal to the prospects stars. 5 star recruit I can scout 100%, 4 star 80%, etc. This gets a bit messed up with recruiting talents but I try to just limit my scouting in general.

No more RE / LE, ROLB / LOLB, etc. Just list them like players are listed in today's football.

Revamped Passing that has more of a chance of off target throws.

Add Create-a-player, with the ability to replace any NIL player or generic player.

In Team Builder, add some generic stadiums from high school level to pro-style.

In Team Builder, add create-a-stadium. Start with the backdrop or the sandbox in which your stadium will be built: in the wilderness, at the beach, on a farm, in a small town, on a school campus, in a big city, etc. Then build your stadium from the ground up by choosing a general style/footprint and going from there.

Allow Team Builder in offline Dynasty.

Add a BUNCH of coach appearance options, and let us edit all coaches in the main menu before we launch a Dynasty.

ALLOW ROSTER EDITING, AT LEAST FOR NON-NIL PLAYERS, with the option to erase NIL players and replace them with editable generic players. At the very least, give us full edit powers for all generic players in the present (from main menu) and in the future (recruits in Dynasty).

All that's been said so far and I wish we could remove the scoreboard while in play and have just the play clock in the bottom left or right corner of the screen

At least not when all the NIL players are just a loose affiliation with each other. In ten years tho I'd bet the farm there is a college players association. Thats what it will take.

Re: EA College Football 26 Wishlist

Yes to everything said, but I'll repeat a few things with my joie de vivre.

Full Player Editing: I caught flak the past few months being such a proponent for this (and listing the educated guesses of what would occur otherwise). Fast forward to barely a week post release, and my words are buried by countless others who are quite more frustrated and then some. To make my stance clear, though – for me – for how I play, and actually there are many others in the same boat – full player editing of ratings coupled with sliders and settings adjustments are just how we can best or sometimes only tolerate and have fun per the game entirely. It certainly helps replay value. I’m middle aged, and while my hand-eye coordination has never been top tier, there’s other things I am starting to deal with such as if a game moves too fast in whatever directions / functions, I can get nausea from it. I hate it. It is what it is, and I’m not blaming the game company for my personal issues, but if they would be so kind as to allow further adjustments to enjoy their game, that would be awesome. I feel like it kind of goes hand in hand with saying your game is all ages, too, haha. From a 6 year old up to a 90 year old, the same one game that wants to say it’s E for Everyone and absolutely sell to everyone really should have adjustable features to secure such a consumer base.

Visuals – Clear up my field of play / line of sight: It gets annoying and distracting and even covers up some players in formations on most of the camera angle selections when you have hovering score bars or such information boxes popping up (or just being there constantly). Score bars should be flush to the top or flush to the bottom, especially if there’s not going to be an option to turn them off entirely. It’s the areas of issue such as these that give credence to anyone questioning if a company truly tests their game with thorough QA. If they can prove it is done, then they must either expand to a bigger field of people testing or just replace all of whom have failed to have anywhere near the average consumer perspectives. In either case, the conclusion is that there’s problems to remedy.

Teambuilder: I must again invoke what I contend to be what secures replay value of this game, and that would be to let teambuilder go back to what it was in the first place. It was editing everything on the website (fine if it absolutely must be an app for today), and it could be used in OFFLINE modes instead of Online Only. A lot of people don’t actually live in big bustling cities and such. Some of us live in quite rural areas where simply having trees alone is why internet still isn’t this 24/7 – 365 guarantee. Figure it out. FIGURE IT OUT. Haha. Seriously, though. Not everyone even likes being or paying the higher costs of being online constantly. You have to understand this, or you wouldn’t even sell hard copy versions of anything, still. Consoles wouldn’t still make the hard disc versions, either.

You cannot know that for sure. In the MLB and NBA games you can. Agreements and contracts can evolve to allow such use.

Re: EA College Football 26 Wishlist

                      My list:

                      Custom Playbooks:
                      • Break up the shotgun formation in to multiple different types like SG Split Back, SG Empty, etc. so we're not endlessly cycling through formations on the playcall screen.
                      • Let us reorder the plays in custom playbooks or at least put them in the order the plays were added.
                      • For the love of everything sacred in this world, please put the sets in alphabetical order!

                      Dynasty:
                      • Include team prestige and coach level in the sim formula as well as the CFB selection process. This will spread out the team ratings without having to alter the player ratings too much and also keep a 8-4 UAB team from somehow making the CFP.
                      • Point spreads with accompanying commentary. If EA wants to completely lack any sense of self-awareness and avoid mentioning anything related to gambling, just call it favorites and underdogs. It would be great to hear that a team "came in to this game as a 7.5 point underdog and pulled the upset" from the commentary.
                      • In recruiting, highlight the ideal pitch in the menu if all of the prospect's interests (green checks) are unlocked. Right now, soft and hard selling prospects is a colossal PITA.
                      • I would like to be able to see a recruit's top schools on the same screen where I'm allocating hours. Personally, I found the recruiting menus unintuitive and sometimes confusing (I keep accidentally exiting back to the hub while trying to open and close recruit screens)
                      • On the dynasty hub, include the front page of a sports website similar to the SI covers in the old games.
                      • If we're not able to edit jersey numbers, at least give us a team setting in dynasty to assign a range of numbers by position.
                      • Dynasty mode should be as much about the coach as RTG is about the player. Have special commentary in-game for first-year head coaches, as well as ones who have been successful for a long time. Also, there needs to be more age variation in the custom coach heads. Even the ones with gray hair look like they're in their 30's.
                      • This may be too controversial, but for the generated recruits, there are way too many black kickers and white running backs and DB's. It's not really a problem, but it breaks the immersion a little bit.

                      Gameplay/Player Editing:

                      • Don't make any changes that nobody asked for.
                      • Currently when editing a player to have a long-sleeve undershirt, the player only wears it in game in cold weather. Other undershirt options appear in-game all the time. Madden has a slider for this.
                      • Let us set equipment in the menu without re-rendering the player model after every change. The player gear editing menu is frustratingly slow.
                      • For helmets, gray out the facemasks that aren't compatible with the selected helmet model.

                      Teambuilder
                      • A site that actually works on day 1.
                      • Ability to mirror image placement on both sides of a helmet.
                      • Pre-made single and double letter logos (letter with a C for college or U for university).
                      • Generic stadiums or at least include the bowl stadiums as options.

                      General:
                      • The cheerleaders look awful in-game. Please fix this and give them their actual uniforms if possible.
                      • Bring back fight songs and cheers for the main menu music. The drum cadence got old fast. Please don't change it to mumble rap, though.
                      • Chris Fowler sounds like he's calling a golf game on a 5-second delay. The regular crew is much better.

All in all, I'm having a great time with the game and I think it's a great starting point for reviving the series.

The NCAA has been neutered over the past few years. They very well may not exist in a few years. But I do see them being around as mostly cover and as an enforcement arm for whatever rules the conference all collectively settle on.

As for the awards, there are a few in game already so I do hope that the others can agree and get onboard. The game is doing without them so they may as well get that money. Maybe with the success of the game they can up the offer and make everyone happy.

I don’t realistically expect, but I do hope, that something can be worked out with draft import. I know is a ball of yarn. It’s the most wishlist thing I can think of.

As for Gameday, they don’t have to name it that. It could be the EA Pregame Show and just feature the talents they already have in game under the same format. It’s like how 2Ks halftime show is basically Inside The NBA without any TNT branding.

It was touted "During our development, we came in every day with the reminder that “Every team is someone's favorite team”. I would like that to be expanded on greatly. More fight songs, more cheers/chants, more traditions, more mascots. I think they really failed to deliver on this one. Make the stadiums fee more alive with people walking around the concourses and up and down stair, like MLB the show does. Makes it feel more real. Real coaches are a must for 2026. More uniforms, I was disappointed on the lack of options.
. Better presentation. Not sure why they could not have the player actions shots that had in past games, during the dynasty screens instead of the two helmets telling recaps of the games.

Even with all that missing , I feel like I have gotten my money's worth.

Re: EA College Football 26 Wishlist

Formation Mass/Subs - This has to be in

Whomever it is at EA who has decided that it's a good idea for "players to forget" the play call from the huddle in Madden and now CFB 25 simply because they are on the road/their composure is low - Move that guy to another development team and don't let them ever touch a football video game development ever again. I love 95% of the current iteration of HFA. Increased false starts, trouble with audibles, maybe some slight degradation to a few attributes that could be caused by this. All of that is great. Having 3 or 4 different play arts pop up just because you're on the road. That's definitely not ok.

Bring back the coin toss - Make it a selectable menu option for those who don't want it. You don't even have to make the actual toss fancy or anything. Just give me the agency to decide what to do based on the wind/weather/home or away/how I'm feeling at the moment.

Get rid of the half time show - I mean...give us an actual half time show that is entertaining, provides good information, and is worth watching. I'll even take what we had in NCAA 14 with a team summary and a generic discussion about what happened in the first half. If it's this current iteration or what Madden has, then don't waste my time.

Make the Dynasty Hub matter - There is simply no reason to ever scroll around the dynasty hub right now. The information that is available can't even be described as a skeleton of what should be there. The Heisman list should show not just the players leading the race but also what their season stats are (maybe career too). This should happen in ever menu which highlights individual players deserving of national recognition. Give us matchup previews on every game showing us how we fair against each other in terms of statistics. Also show the historic head to head record in that menu. Even better if we can get tendencies, schemes, etc. If an opponent is running the Air Raid and a 3-3-5 defense, make that easy to see along with their run/pass/blitz tendencies. Give us school history like NCAA 14 had where I can click on a school, see their historic record, current season leaders, rivals, etc. Let us see the "toughest places to play" ranked. Show the season stat leaders on the main screen like NCAA14 did. Just give me a reason to spend time in any menu that isn't simply play game/recruit so that I can immerse myself in the stories of the league.

News ticker inside and outside of gameplay - Show the results around the nation under the score bug when I'm in game and when I'm in the dynasty hub.

Studio Updates - Periodic breaks from the action to show highlights from another game.

Expand the playcall screen - I like the information that it provides, but it's too random in nature. The game randomly gives you 2 points of information each new play and in the vast majority of cases it isn't one that I care about. So, just make it scrollable with like 7 or 8 different things. Team vs Team stats, individual leaders, last play, the player at the highest risk of injury, etc.

Make sliders work - To CFB 25's credit, many sliders do work far better than their Madden counterparts. But they need to do more. Pass coverage at 100 should result in some lockdown corners but it barely feels any different than having it at 60.

Weekly coaching decisions - This is more fantasy than something that is likely to happen, but I think that it would be cool if they used the coaching skill tree in a way that would simulate the ways that a coach may have to prioritize things in a given week. You get a "budget" of skills that can be used in any given weak. You may have a dozen or more coaching skills unlocked, but you have a budget of what can be used that week. So, if you're facing a ground and pound team then you may want to select some skills that buff the dLine/LB's or maybe improve your QB/WR abilities if you think that it's going to be a shootout. Maybe you're facing a cupcake and can take it easy on the in game buffs and want to focus more on getting high school seniors to want to come to you so you install your recruiting buffs. This would make coaching progression less linear and it would provide the ability to gameplan.
