Recruits appearance NEED some work! (far too many long beards)

I apologize if the mods deem that this topic doesn't warrant it's own topic but I feel very strongly about this issue and it's absolutely driving me mad!

I'm only in my second season yet I've seen some very immersion-breaking things from recruits; whether it's the fact that seemingly about 50%+ of incoming recruits have weird dirty blondish beards and hair that doesn't look quite right on the player, repeating first and last names (Malcolm Malcolm was the one I seem to recall coming across but I know there were two) or the issue that the majority of the recruits have just about the same faces. I was really hoping that this wouldn't be as big of an issue as it is.

Add to the fact that for whatever reason we cannot edit the skin tone or face of recruits to better match their names, I see this as a major problem that needs to be looked at by EA.

I really wish they'd just let us edit faces, skin tones, and let us assign numbers to incoming recruits. Those three things alone would have me enjoying the game so, so much more.

Is anyone else seeing this or am I the only one that is bothered by stuff like this?

I also saw some that had grey hair and looked really old. Those were far less common than the examples you gave in my experience but they were there.

Not a mod, but this for sure doesn't need its own thread.

There's so many threads already discussing the various issues. We don't need a new one every time someone is inconvenienced.

Lol. I for one enjoy having a team full of white long bearded corners. The EA alternate universe is pretty damn funny

I also saw some that had grey hair and looked really old. Those were far less common than the examples you gave in my experience but they were there.

The players look old enough to be coaches and the coaches look young enoght to play lol.

I know this is controversial but I like realism... There's far too many black kickers/punters and white RBs/CBs/Safties recruits in the game.

It's a legitimate issue with the recruit generation if they are going for authenticity. I don't know how it could be controversial. Just because it is race related does not mean it should naturally be a heated topic.

EA put in the effort to get realistic archetype generation based on location and also put in the effort to get realistic talent distribution based on location, but failed to put in the effort to get realistic demographic representation based on location.

They should strive for that to be authentic. It was an issue in Madden that they fixed, so it is not something they are above messing with. If anything is controversial about the topic, I would say it should be how it could be perceived as disrespectful to certain communities like Hialeah, East St. Louis, the Hawaiian islands, and many others as to how they are represented in the game with a bunch of guys that look like me with their fair skin, blonde hair, and blonde beards.

It's cool they have a lot of Samoan names in the game now and they generate properly in the correct regions, but it's a bit silly when literally every Samoan in my current recruiting class looks like this guy below. Seriously, I scrolled through each Hawaii recruit. It's not authentic to real life and isn't representing certain communities properly.

Yeah I have been curious why this has been the decision with the college football game by EA since I think NCAA 13. Prior to that the generated recruits matched what you'd expect with demographics. I do remember having this discussion back when NCAA 14 was out on here and getting a warning on these forums for even mentioning the race of recruits at all.

I really don't have a problem if they want to make it slightly more diverse than reality but having a completely random player/name generation really hurts immersion 5-10 years down the line in dynasty. Plus the amount of beards and lack of long hair on the recruits really hurts that immersion as well.

Why did they even include the gray hair options for this game? If you are going to have it just as an option, it needs to be like a 0.001 percent chance of being generated on an 18-year-old recruit.

It is a bit surprising to me with how much depth they put into types of recruits and locations of recruits, they didn't think to weight the demographics/ names/ appearances of players to match that hyper realistic recruiting pool they seemed to be bragging about.

Somehow my recruits are 80% Italian. So odd. Also no one has dreadlocks outside helmet.

This is exactly what I was referring to with my original post! It's baffling that this somehow made it through (but then again, it's still EA so it's also not very surprising either at the same time somehow).
