It is great to be back! While we haven't had a college football game in ten years, I have been keeping busy posting FIFA and MLB the Show dynasties! I am very excited to be back with a college football dynasty and we have taken our talents to the strip in Las Vegas, Neveda, as Coach BigJ takes over the reigns of the UNLV Rebels.

The NCAA will look a little different, or similar to some as I have made some changes right off the bat. I have split most of the conferences back into divisions with every conference playing just eight conference games and three non-conference games. I have also brought back the Pac-12 with a change, swapping BYU and Colorado. Here are the conference lineups as we head into the 2024 season.

Our team needs are all over the place but our biggest needs are defensive line and cornerback.

We are a 1 1/2 star prestige program with 30 seniors and we will have 40 openings so we need to fill spots on this roster.

Awesome to see you posting a dynasty bigJ! Happy to see you choose UNLV as well. They haven’t had much success other than last year so it will be cool to see you build them up ! Who are you planning on starting at QB? I was playing with them and I had much more success with Friel, reminds me of Kaepernick. Hope all is well dude! Good luck with the Rebels

                      ORANGE CRUSH!
Syracuse Flexes Their Muscle in 27-13 Win Over UNLV

Coach BigJ's debut did not go well.

                      8/24/24
Las Vegas, NV (AP) – The newest era in UNLV football wrote it's first chapter on Saturday evening and it wasn't great as the Rebels were soundly defeated 27-13 by the Syracuse Orange. Fadil Diggs had a monster game for the Orange, recording 13 tackles, eight for loss, inclusing 5.0 sacks and a forced fumble as the Orange defense just suffocated the Rebels for most of the game.

UNLV would get off to a quick start, scoring on their opening possession on a 40 yard Caden Chittenden field goal, but that was about the highlight of the night. The Orange would score three touchdowns before halftime, quieting the crowd at Allegiant Stadium as they would grab a 21-3 halftime advantage.

Kyle McCord would open the scoring as he avoided a blitz and threw a dot to Justus Ross-Simmons for a 58 yard score to give Syracuse a 7-3 lead. McCord, the transfer from Ohio State, would then run an option keeper in from 14 yards out on the Cuse's next possesion to make it 14-3.

Oronde Gadsen II would catch a one-yard touchdown pass from McCord in the final moments of the opening half to make it 21-3 and all of the air was taken out of the building in Coach Big J's debut.

The Rebels would get another Caden Chittenden field goal in the third to cut into the Cuse lead. And after a Brady Denaburg 30 yard field goal ealy in the fourth, the Rebels would mount their lone touchdown drive of the evening. It was capped off with a Cameron Friel 15 yard touchdown pass to Landon Rogers and it cut the Orange lead to 24-13 with 1:40 left.

But the Orange would recover the onside kick and managed to add a late field goal to make the final 27-13.

Cameron Friel threw three interceptions after being named the starting quarterback this summer in a three-way competition. He went 24-46 285 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions. He also ran the ball 19 times for 26 yards and had a fumble.

Kyle McCord's Syracuse debut wasn't all roses as he went 17-25 for 254 yards and two touchdowns, but he also three two interceptions, both to cornerback Ladarrius Bishop, with one coming in the endzone.

Sophomore wideout Corey Thompson Jr left the game in the second quarter after making a 28 yard reception as he absorbed a big hit. He has bruised ribs that will keep him out a few weeks and likely mean that he will miss the game at New Mexico State, the Rebels Mountain West opener in two weeks.

I went with Friel at QB for the reasons that you said. He has a strong arm and is very mobile.

Las Cruces, NM (AP) – UNLV and new head coach Big J got into the win column on Saturday afternoon with a thrilling come from behind 29-26 victory over New Mexico State on the road at Aggie Memorial Stadium. A 73-yard scoop and score from Johnathan Baldwin midway through the fourth quarter helped the Rebels cap a 12 point second half comeback to win their first game of the season.

New Mexico State got out to an early lead, getting a 49 yard field goal from Freddy Joya on their opening possession to grab a 3-0 lead.

Cameron Friel would put the Rebels in front as he rolled out and walked in from three yards out early in the second quarter to put the Rebels up 7-3. It capped a 12-play, 61 yard drive.

The Aggies would then score the next 17 points to grab control of the game. Halfback Monte Watkins would catch a 13 yard pass from Duece Hogan lined up at wideout, to put the Aggies up 10-7. New Mexico State would then stop UNLV on downs near midfield and immediately scored, this time on a Watkins 8 yard run. It was a four play, 49 yard drive to put New Mexico State up 17-7. They would add another Joya field goal to go up 20-7 and it looked like the rout may be on.

But the Rebels got it together and scored on a quick eight play, 81 yard drive when Michael Allen scored from the one yard line to get the Rebels back to with 20-14 at the half.

New Mexico State would extend their lead back to 12 midway through the third on Duece Hogan's second touchdown pass of the afternoon, this one a seven yard pass to PJ Johnson III. The Rebels would stop the two point attempt to leave the score 26-14.

The Rebels would then put together a 14-play, 68 yard drive that featured two fourth down conversions and was capped off by a three yard touchdown pass from Cameron Friel to tight end Kaleo Ballungay late in the third quarter to cut the Aggies lead to 26-21.

New Mexico State was driving midway through the final quarter looking to put this one away when lighting struck. After getting a Duece Hogan touchdown pass called back for offensive holding, Johnathan Baldwin made the play of the game, stripping halfback Monte Watkins, scooping up the loose ball and racing 73 yards for the go ahead score. The Rebels would convert the two point conversion to go up 29-26.

After each team punted, the Aggies got the ball back on their own 23 with 1:45 left in regulation, down three , with no timeouts left. They would drive it down to the UNLV 11 yard line and on second and seven, Ladarrius Bishop sealed it, intercepting Duece Hogan in the endzone with 0:49 left to give the Rebels their first win of the BigJ era.

“We fought hard and I made a few coaching errors early on that put us in a hole,” said Coach BigJ afterwards. “I will learn from those and we will be better for it. I cannot say enough about this team and how hard they fought to comeback and win this game in a hostile environment.”

Senior quarterback Cameron Friel limited the mistakes that cost his team in the opener, going 23-40 for 213 yards with a touchdown pass and a rushing score. The defense stepped up with two huge turnovers in the fourth quarter and the Rebels are now (1-1, 1-0 MWC).

Up next is a trip to Houston to take on the Cougars (0-2, 0-1) out of the Big XII. It is a step up in class for the Rebels as they look to build on their first win of 2024.

Ladarrius Bishop sealed it with this endzone interception in the closing moments.
