PSA - Changing Positions
Using Clemson they have a MLB prospect named Sammy Brown. In season 1, I red-shirted him. He is a Field General 81 OVR. During the offseason, during position changes, I changed him to ROLB because 98% of the time, I am in a nickel defense and not using an MLB. I also noticed that he did not improve and was still an 81 OVR ROLB. I made sure he started, and after a few games where he played very well, I went back to look at him to see if he was developing during the season. What I found was a blank tab that no longer showed him as Field General, and he had 0 development traits. I went through the national ROLB and noticed none of them were field generals, just MLB. I created a save point and simmer to the end of the season. He had 48 tokens for upgrades at this point, but the tabs were still blank. I changed his position back to MLB and moved the week forward to player progression. He improved to a 96 overall SO(RS), and the tabs were no longer blank.Last edited by Carsten; 07-30-2024, 10:40 AM.Tags: None -
Re: PSA - Changing Positions
There is no "Field General" Archetype for OLB, only Power/Speed Rusher, Run Stopper & Pass Coverage.
But i also had the same problem for some players where the Ratings tab was just empty and they stopped developing. I may try a position change to see if it fixes this issue. -
Re: PSA - Changing Positions
Forgive my ignorance here...but what do you mean by 48 tokens for upgrades? Gone through 2 full seasons of a dynasty and have no idea what you mean lolComment

Re: PSA - Changing Positions
Regarding linebackers changing positions. Has anyone else noticed the rating changes between LOLB and ROLB? My starting LOLB is a ROLB whose ratings are 78 and 72 respectively. My starting ROLB is a LOLB whose ratings are 76 and 75 respectively. In earlier games, I have never seen a ratings difference between ROLB and LOLB. If you were 76 on one side you would be 76 on the other.Comment

I didn't suggest it was incorrect. I made the observation this is new in this game and that previous releases would have the same ratings for either OLB. Hopefully we'll eventually get Boundary Corners and Field Corners.Comment

There also doesn't appear to be rating difference between LDE and RDE, LG and RG, LT and RT.Comment

Re: PSA - Changing Positions
I have seen difference in all those. It depends on the scheme you play and the position their in I know that a agile LG rating will drop going to RG because i need a power RG in my scheme if you follow. Sometimes if you switch side their archetype even changes

Is there anywhere this year where you can see the preferred archetypes for each position in your stated coach system?I have seen difference in all those. You can see that pretty easily in Madden, but I haven’t found it in CFB25 yet.Comment

PSA - Changing Positions
This is how players progress in season (offseason is different I’m pretty sure). To see it, Go to Team-> view Roster -> view player card on any player (Y on Xbox).
They gain xp per game. When they fill their xp bar (upper left) they get a token (upper right). They have areas that they can use those tokens to improve for a cost (middle to the left of player). This is all done automatically with no input from us.Last edited by jello1717; 07-31-2024, 10:57 AM.Favorite Teams:

Re: PSA - Changing Positions
You go to my school then look at playing style and look at each position how it effects your team in rating

Re: PSA - Changing Positions
If you look at a player's card and ratings tab, you'll see what ratings he's already maxed out on, and what he can still upgrade. During that you'll see how many coins it takes for the CPU to upgrade them and on the top right you'll see how many coins he has accrued.
I use this to see what areas the player has maxed out and what areas will be easier to upgrade moving forward. I like seeing a players physical traits maxed out first then do the easier 1-2 coins areas like IQ.NHL: Anaheim Ducks
NFL: Carolina Panthers
MLB: Atlanta Braves
NBA: Charlotte Hornets
NCAA: North Carolina Tar HeelsComment
