How do coach pipelines work (or do they even)?

I assumed that I could see their pipeline effect when looking at the pipeline column in the prospect list. I also assumed that the coaches’ pipelines would stack with each other and the school.

    Are those assumptions faulty?

So, at UAB, I have Michigan as a pipeline, and both assistants have East Texas. I played an entire season and am now starting a new one since I know it might only take affect at the start of a season.

With us 3 coaches we have 0 pipeline to Michigan, and only a 1 pipeline with Texas, and 3 with Alabama.

I started a new test dynasty where the 3 coaches had Big Sky, Alabama, and Southern Cali. With these coaches all were the same as my real dynasty; 0 Michigan, 1 Texas, 3 Alabama.

    1. Do I just not understand how it works and I’m not supposed to see a change in the pipeline column while recruiting? If so, where do I see the change?

    2. Is this a bug and I am indeed supposed to see changes in the pipeline column?

    3. If it is a bug, is it known and everyone has it, or is my particular game/system bugged (it’s not just my dynasty as both dynasties were bugged if it’s a bug)?

The Dynasty Campus Huddle blog described the coach pipeline attribute as follows:

I'm not sure if this effect has a visible indicator in the recruiting UI the way that the school pipelines show up. If it does, I can't find it. I suspect the boost is marginal, worth at most a single pipeline level. Probably warrants either further testing or explanation from EA Sports, because it is a bit cryptic right now.

If it's like 14 pipelines would work with how many players you have from a state.. but we don't have those list anymore so I can't really the theroy. Example I just started with UMass and PNW is my pipeline. But the recruiting pipelines are all east coast, Oh, FL, cali. When I started a utep season it was TX and az.

It isn't like 14. Pipelines are static and based off where schools historically recruit.

Yeah I don't get it either.

I created a coach with a Big Apple pipeline in my New Mexico dynasty (big apple is far away from New Mexico, yeah I know) and no prospects from New York or New Jersey have pipeline symbols.

And I don't even know where to find my assistant coach's pipelines 🤷🏻*♂️ I don't see it in any coaching menu.

I don’t think I’ve found it either. I just knew mine because my real coach hired his 2 assistants when he took the HC job, and it shows you when you’re hiring assistants. And my test coach saw them when I created him at dynasty creation.

as far as i can tell, your coaches pipeline doesn't have anything to do with it. it's the school's geographic location and historical recruiting areas

Yeah I haven't gotten to the point where I can hire assistants yet 🤷🏻*♂️ I thought I'd be able to do it upon creating my coach and starting up year one but I didn't find it anywhere. And I haven't gotten to year two yet.

I just noticed that there are abilities in the CEO coach ability tree which deal with boosting recruiting in the coach's primary pipeline. Perhaps these are required to see any boost in the coach's pipeline?

I did a quick save before and after using the Main Pipeline boost (Pipeline From Head coach editing menu) and there is definitely a visible increase to the interest level when you advance to the recruiting process during the Preseason.

The Top 5 pipeline tier increase worked as well.

I'm using Oklahoma State and have Oklahoma as my pipeline and was able to get my 1st instant commits.
I changed it to a different pipeline, not currently in my pipeline list and noticed recruits with a significant amount of interest as well.
I'm just not sure how to distinguish the split pipeline like California, Texas, Florida, etc. It just shows the state.

When changing to a different pipeline, did the pipeline icon visually show up? Like if you chose Big Sky for your coach and had that ability, were you seeing a pipeline number 1-5, and if so which one? Just curious if there is a clear visual indicator.
