    Coverage Adjustment 'Sticks'

Can someone help me understand what the 'Sticks' Option on the Coverage Adjustments Menu does?

That's for if you want your linebacker's and DB's to defend the first down marker, "sticks". I use it on 3rd and longs to keep offenses from getting the first down if they drop it off underneath. Only downside is you can get burned deep, but it's a risk worth taking in my opinion.

      Thank you! That makes sense!

I believe it does the same thing for the goalline once your opponent is in a goal-to-go situation.

Does anyone know how it interacts with the offense smart routing routes to the sticks?

I've noticed that this year when you smart route it pushes the route about 5 yards past the marker when in the past it use to bring it right to the marker.

I would think that protecting the sticks results in the zone being centered on the marker but would not be surprised if it has the zone just before using the reasoning that you wanna tackle the ball carrier before they reach the marker.
How funny would it be if both sides of the ball use their corresponding option and it results in the wide receivers running open narrowly outside the range of defenders lol

Biggest downfall I've seen using the sticks D on 3rd and long is opening the area about 5-10 yards beyond the sticks in front of my safeties. Usually, I can get to the QB before routes develop that long, but when I don't and they have a deep post or corner called I can get burned.

Quarters is also an auto match (unless four strong) in this game. I like to use sticks to spot drop zone stuff.
