As an off-line MyCareer player, I don't like starting at a 60 OVR and I don’t like that most builds feels like a glorified role player. I don't want to create a demigod, but i want my player to feel like an actual Superstar.

I do like no badge regression, practice, I really like the you can earn Season XP for offline Single player games. That's huge for me since i dont play Online. I never benefited from the Seasons rewards. I'm guessing Agility is replacing Lateral Quickness. I like that Agility is something we can boost. Even when we had 90+ Perimeter Defense, if we didn't have a high Lateral Quickness, we couldn't feel like an elite shutdown defender

Not too bad, there are actually
        some fresh ideas in there.

Interesting that they kind of tweaked the MyPlayer story to focus on team building instead of strictly individual.

I like the consolidation of the badges too, only one I’m not a big fan of is Mini Marksman which is pretty much Mix Match expert from 2K22.

I didn't see any new badges. Some are completely removed and the ones left are basically the same as 2k24 but with a new name. Not an issue for me though.

I'm only worried about some old features (like the hostage dribble) not getting fixed.

The dribbling in that Brickley gym clip looked real smooth and realistic. I just need to see some gameplay. It sucks 2k is not showing anything until September.

Love that there is less badges, especially shooting badges because I feel like all of those HOF badges activating at the same time was making ut hard to balance the game.

I wonder if the new Badge tier will be for regular rosters too so it can be used in MyNBA.
            ... But hey VC sale!!

I like the idea of Cap Breakers. But, it feels like something where you have to make builds with Cap Breakers in mind. It states you cannot exceed the max potential rating cap of your build. So if your max 3pt potential is 85, you're not getting past 85. For me, it feels like the best way to handle Cap Breakers is to put them towards secondary ratings. For example, I usually make a 3 & D players. So in the builder, I'm going to set my caps for 3pt, Defense, and Athletic where i want to max them when setting the caps. I would put the Cap Breakers on secondary ratings like Finishing ratings to unlock Broze badges.

I do like the combined and reduced badges. It felt like there was so many badges. There didnt need to be a badge for every specific situation.

I liked the idea of streamlining MyCareer last year and not having to do quests. But, it got really shallow in offline. So, i do hope there are more press conferences and offline depth aspects

Why don't you like that badge?

I'm a little disappointed that some of these badges still combine skills that aren't mutually inclusive. For example, Glove still applies to perimeter steals and layup strips. Not everyone who's good at one is good at the other. Dirk is a good example.

Bail Out also applies to mid-air passes and passes out of double-teams. There are lots of post players who can pass out of low-post doubles, but I bet they wouldn't be great at passing in the air.

Paint Prodigy is super ambiguous. "Improves ability to quickly and efficiently score while going to work in the paint"? What does that mean?

I also really wish they'd stop changing the names of these badges. It makes it so hard to remember what they do. Or at least make them self-explanatory. "Versatile Visionary" could easily be "Tight Passer" or something.

And I can't believe we haven't gotten badges for individual layup types yet (spin, Euro, etc.) even though we've seen players have go-to layup gather moves for decades now. Also a badge for drawing fouls on layups (and a separate badge for drawing jump shot fouls) seems obvious to me.

I do like that caps can be broken and the idea of going past the Hall of Fame badge level is very interesting. But overall, I'm a little disappointed.

For one, I’m selfish as someone who is primarily a big man…lol

I take pride in those moments where I have to make a switch and can shut down guards on the perimeter. Now they get a boost in addition to being hard to stay with. Probably even more so with all the shot cancelling you can do. I get the spirit of a the badge though.

BTW- Not sure if you knew, but they had a ton of badges differentiating layup types last year. Floaters, Spin, Scoops etc. were all their own badge. I feel that’s probably one set that didn’t need to be consolidated.

Though they could be annoying AF to defend I ran into many PGs that were efficient at different types and it was pretty cool. I feel like that’s the whole spirit of badges and not having everything tied to some static number.

I do wonder if there is any additional changes for the Dynasty building aspect to work. Last year felt like one of the better years when it came to AI Teammates performing well. For this Dynasty aspect to work, you'll have to stay with the same team. So, i do hope they rework the Suggest Trade Targets feature. It always felt like I had to waste 1-2 suggestions just to get one player. So i think the better way to handle it is to either just allow Trade Suggestions to be broken(it's offline anyway) or give each player a Trade Likelihood grade based on how they are viewed by their team and what you're team has to offer. Even though Teammates played better, I did have a gripe about AI Teammates. It feels like Tendencies in general need to be worked on.it was frustrating playing with guys like Embiid because he didn't play like himself(outside of obvious foul baiting lol).

I really like that we can earn Season XP from MyCareer games. Offline gamers couldn't get those rewards.

I always typically waited until Black Friday to start MyCareer. That's usually when i buy game and i wanted to wait until patch and roster update is out. This year, i won't wait, especially if the Cap Breakers are tied to Season Rewards. Now I just have to decide whether i want to recreate same player as last year or a new one. I liked my build last year. It was a 3 & D PF that could pass. With Agility and Cap Breakers, it would make my build better. I have to see where my Lateral Quickness was at, but it didn't feel like I could guard 1s and quick 2s. I want to feel like i can legitimately guard 1-5. The cap breakers would help because i struggling scoring around the paint. Or I might try and create a Anthony Davis type of Center.

                      Like that Mycourts are back

Like the FIBA games but kinda hate that I'm assuming we're locked to Team USA. Would be dope to play for other countries. Next gen consoles got all the memory space now too. So I don't want to hear that console limitations bs. Must be the MyCareer story.

Being able to see what animations our build can get is also great. I hated creating a build and then being disappointed I couldn't get a certain dunk animation or jumpshot and ended up deleting it later. Ruined the whole purpose of making that build at least now we know.

Hopefully this new “offseason” is worth it and not just some minor thing to add FIBA. Also I hope we aren’t forced to play FIBA.

I’m not expecting CAP to have a glow up but it better be improved.

Let’s hope our AI teammates are smarter this year and can actually make shots. If they want us to actually make a dynasty with the team we are with our teammates can’t be trash.

I don't like that we still have to do Gatorade workouts to change body types. But, it doesnt seem as time consuming as last year. It says you have to do each of the 12 unique Gatorade workouts to unlock 99 Stamina, all body types, and permanent turbo boost. So if we get 4 workouts a week, it should only take 3 weeks to get those perks as long as we do each workout at least once.

That High Flying Denier seems like it can be an OP defensive badge. Yes Chasedown Artist is merged with another badge. But, High Flying Denier seems like it could be activated on Closeouts as well. If it is, it's a wrap lol. Imagine the amount of closeout blocked 3s you could get at Gold of HOF lol. I think if you pair High Flying Denier and Challenger that should lead to great perimeter defense. Even if you don't get the block, you still get the speed and vertical boost, and Challenger activates, you should be able to force a lot of missed shots. Could be able to sag off and help, then be able quickly close out and either block shots or hope Challenger kicks in and force misses.

With MyCareer, what's up with them just continuing the MP theme. This is like the 3rd or 4th year of MP, its like they stopped trying lol.

I don't know if I'll get Legend badges. I seen a discord post saying that most rating requirement for legend badges are in the high 90s. I don't usually put my primary skills in the high 90s. I usually just put them high enough for gold badges. Only way i see me getting those is if I still have wiggle room using Cap Breakers.

For the most part AI Teammates were a lot better than years past. The issue was tendencies. It felt like AI rushed shots too quickly when they were open. Nothing was worse than a Center catch a wide open baseline look and take a quick forced shot animation, instead of either driving for easy dunk or setting up for a normal shot. Or Guards that take threes EVERY time they get a screen. It felt like the best scoring AI Teammates were Spot up Shooters, great drivers, and finishers.

In that sense would be good if they thought of incorporating recruting not only for FIBA Games but for you team...

Like we had before on NBA2K, meeting with future free agent and trying to convince them to come play with us
