CFB 25: This game owns my soul thread

Yep! It's time to create this thread for those like me who have been completely enamored with CFB 25. I'll keep it short by just explaining a couple drive by the cpu vs me. This is All American difficulty, but I am convinced any difficulty on this game is gold.

I am Indiana playing at home vs Nebraska in year one. Game is tied 7-7 at half. Nebraska has been running on me all game so I adjust to start third quarter with blitzes and shifting my d-line more, as well as guessing run. Well, I get them in 3rd and long the first drive and force a punt. Next drive it's 3rd & 11. What do they do? Delayed handoff for 13 yards. I'm cussing on the sideline on this one.

Few plays later they are driving and reach my 20yd line. 1st and 10 and they're in I-formation. I shift my d-line to stop the run. What do they do? Play action and hit the TE on a crossing route who beats my safety who bit on the play action.

It's the gameplay like this from the AI that will keep me coming back to this game. You can tell true college football fans created this game, similar to how you can tell baseball enthusiasts create MLBTS.

Yeah, but did New Mexico State end up beating Georgia in the championship game?

Re: CFB 25: This game owns my soul thread

I had a game using Ole Miss at Florida. It was a rain game and both offenses just could not move the ball. Half the game consisted of 3 and outs for both teams. Game is tied 7-7 at half. I threw a tipped interception, gave them great field position insude the 30. 3 and out but they make the field goal.

10-7 with 10 mins remaining in 3rd Q. The game stayed tight, helped by drops on both sides, penalties, etc. With 2 mins plus remaining, I stopped their drive and force a punt. Now it's 4 down territory, and my offense turns on. Get 1st and goal at the 9 with 30 secs left. Curl route netted me 6 yards, time out. 2nd and goal at the 3.

I call a goal line toss play, and I see the end zone and as I turn the corner going in I get tackled which usually results in me going on via body momentum. But this time, during the tackle, ball pops out and goes out of bounds in the end zone.

        Touchback. Game over 10-7.

My current objective is trying to objectively master default Heisman 15-min quarters.

Sure maybe the average guy can win 76-59 under these conditions; but it’s my aim to win 59-0, ya know?

I been tryna tell yall, it’s possible to play lights-out D. If you’re allowing 450 yds passing and 85% completion % it’s on you.

Fr, like, you can drop a cool 70 points on offense. Cool. Can you hang a zero on D?

Trying to balance the two is the challenge this game presents.

The average guy, if he loaded up a game on default Heisman 15-min quarters, would lose 78-42. Or maybe win 59-49. That’s kinda my basic stance.

My argument is that if that same guy would just keep playing, getting better, improving, etc, he would start to see better and better games.

          56-49 becomes 31-26.
          63-48 becomes 39-30.

Get better, your games will get better.
          Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

I'm absolutely loving CFB warts and all. But baseball already owns my soul and wasn't as willing to part with it, as I originally assessed it would. CFB will have to be content with owning part of my wallet.

I'm definitely enjoying CFB25. It doesn't exactly own my soul as I thought it would before it came out .... yet. I'm still waiting on some ironing out before I allow it to totally consume me. I've been playing a lot of play now and also have a "test" dynasty. I've settled on All-american. I can play Heisman but AA just feels more natural to me. Once everything is ironed out, I may be seeking a divorce lawyer lol.

Before this game came out, I was rotating games. I was playing WWE 2K24, NBA 2K24, Madden, and MLB The Show 24. Since this game has been out, I've played one half of Madden 25 and watched one game of NBA 2k24, and each time I couldn't wait to get back to CFB 25.

                  Enough said lol.

I am on a hiatus from CFB 25 taking my son up to
College since Tuesday. I will be home tomorrow evening.

All I hear are the drum lines from CFB 25 in my sleep.

It definitely has its hooks in me. I’m sure y’all have seen posts about how I stay up much too late playing this thing. Officially deleted M25 off of my PS5 last night w/ ~2 hrs worth of trial left and will let M24 satisfy any superstar or franchise mode urges that arise. Shoot, I’m thinking about the 2026 season w/ JMU now and those 7-8 impact freshman in the class I just brought in. Lol

I cautiously congratulate you on this new adult experience. Having done this with my two kiddos, it is a bitter-sweet experience.

I just love the drum line and linger on the menu screen to absorb the sounds. I have yet to start a dynasty or install your sliders, I am taking the tour of the CFB universe, experiencing all the stadiums, teams, and traditions. I have my Phil Steele magazine open reading the rundown of the players, getting to know them better, personifying them.

This development team has laid the foundation for an epic franchise. This game has definitely seduced and captured my soul.
