My WR beats the press and has a 2-4 yard lead on the defender.
I push up or maybe up+towards sideline on the left stick and tap the B button.
More than 75% of the time the pass is under thrown (my WR has to do a 180 to attempt to catch it) and the trailing CB easily swats the ball away.
I just tried this in practice, trying to be able to lead the WR on a ton of passes and the result is the same.
I use classic passing (I tried revamped and sucked at it pretty horribly). I normally use small “pass lead increase.” In practice I tried medium pass lead increase, but I underthrew just as many passes. The only noticeable difference was that I overthrew some as well, while I never overthrow with small lead.
What am I doing wrong?
Is my assumption that pushing the LS up to lead the WR away from the trailing CB correct?
Is it a ratings issue? I mainly use scramblers, but I’ve used field generals as well while I recruit scramblers.
Is it because I use classic passing? I absolutely don’t have the stick skills for placement and accuracy, and have sucked with revamped with red throws 75% of the time and yellow throws maybe 20% that I’m not lobbing the ball. Lobs are the only passes I can consistently get blue.
This is mainly just an issue with leading receivers downfield. If I’ve got a crosser I don’t have much trouble leading him left or right away from a trailing defender.
