Why do my field goals consistently fall short?

I'm really hoping someone can help me figure out what is going on here. My field goals consistently fall short. Anything over 35 yards is basically a guaranteed miss because of this. It's like the kicker develops some sort of noodle leg. It happens despite accuracy 'in the green' and power 'not in the red'. It happens with both tap/hold and tap/tap controls. It happens both home games and away games. I have tested with multiple kickers from multiple teams. It has made the kicking game basically impossible for me.

This only happens in dynasty mode - I can reproduce it in game and in dynasty practice. But I cannot reproduce this in 'open practice' from the main menu, even using the same kicker. Am I missing something about dynasty mode that would cause this to happen? Any help is appreciated!

Slider setting maybe? Maybe somehow it got lowered?

I'm using Armor's sliders, kick power at 50 / kick accuracy 32.

I am also using Armor's sliders, and I have not seen this. If anything, I've seen the opposite, where my kicker is easily able to make 50 yarders. Do you have the sliders set up in dynasty? Or only in the main slider section, outside of dynasty mode?

Thanks, yes I do have the sliders set in dynasty mode, Dynasty Central -> Gameplay Sliders. Should I set them outside of dynasty mode as well or does it not matter?

I don't believe it matters. I only have them set in Dynasty, so that shouldn't be the issue, then. It could be some other slider. I know back in the day, people said that penalty sliders would affect some of the gameplay sliders. Are you using Armor's penalty sliders, as well?

I have my kicking sliders up for power because I was seeing the same thing.

Try holding the left analog (PS5) stick down, to lower the trajectory. I have to do that for anything 38yds +, and it works all the time. Well, longest FG I have attempted is 56yds, and I made it with 85 power. So give that a shot.

Are you able to go into practice mode within dynasty to see if the same issue occurs there when kicking? If it does, I would then raise the FG accuracy slider by 5 points and re-enter practice and see if the issue still exists or if that fixes it.

There is a chance that your kicker's accuracy rating is low enough that in combination with the FG accuracy slider being that low it's the root cause of the issue. That accuracy slider may work for the majority of kickers people play with, but if one has low enough ratings it may be hitting a threshold that leads to this problem and the fix may be to temporarily bump the accuracy slider up a tick or two to fix it until his ratings develop.

I'm going to try this. Its the only thing I have not played around with. It does not explain why I have no issues outside dynasty mode though.

Ok, this is interesting. Yes I do observe this in dynasty mode practice as well. I will give it a shot later.

You nailed it. Raised it from 32 -> 35 and had no issues kicking. Lowered it back to 32 - immediately had the problem again. This was driving me nuts...thanks so much!!!

Appreciate this info very much as well. Can’t wait to get home and try it. I’ve been suffering from the same thing. I basically have to go for it on 4th down because my field goal game was non existent. Even with kickers close to 90 power. This could be a game changer. Thanks!!

Wow, that's odd. The kicker's accuracy was the reason you didn't get the distance on kicks? Do they have that reversed? It doesn't seem right. Last night I hit a 38-yard FG just over the crossbar from the right hash mark at about 80% kick strength with a kicker who has 69 Kick Power and 71 Kick Accuracy.

It isn't reversed. The kick power and accuracy ratings work as intended. The kick accuracy slider can just be wonky when lowered to certain levels. You won't notice the issues unless you play with low enough ratings like what OP's kicker has.

For what it’s worth, I just went into my settings and I had set the power and accuracy at 20 because I thought it was for the cpu kickers, who are basically snipers. Apparently, it’s for my kickers and that explains why I could barely make a 20 yard field goal ����*♂️ I just put them each back up to 50 and I was in practice nailing 55 yarders lol
