SORT of OT but I have some pretty darn good sliders for PS4 Madden25 CPU vs CPU in the OLD GEN area.

Lighting is SWEET - I wonder what I'm missing between PS4 and PS5

To me, it honestly feels like they're setting things up to make the last few years before gen 6 launches excellent. Using the early years to build up a framework that they can use in the future.
Agreed. I was just pointing it out since it’s been on the new engine for a few years now.

Re: HOLD UP!!! Madden 25 last gen has real time progressive lighting?

Just tried Madden 24 PS4 version on my PS5 via EA Play. Just wanted to see if the lighting is progressive. It is. And it's a thing to behold as it changes after every single play. I played as the Browns against the Titans in a 4:30 clear game. I watched the shadows move across the field all through the first half, then in the 3rd quarter the lights came on and the sky was orange and dusky. By the 4th quarter the sky was almost dark and the city skyline was lit up. I cannot believe EA snuck this feature in on last gen the very first year that "next gen" was available on PC. I should also note that the camera angles and views of the stadium are amazing compared to Next Gen. It just really shows off the environment with so many angles. Add to it the amazing time of day lighting changing and you could really see the passage of time throughout the game. The presentation might be a little better too as I saw much more shots of players on the sidelines, coaches gettting mad, players reading tablets and things like that. The models and lighting on the players was clearly inferior but we just don't even see any of these shots anymore. Almost every timeout or transition at 2 minute warnings and end of quarters feature cool aerial shots that show the setting and the city so much better than current gen. I am by no means saying I would go back to this version, but having tried it, it makes the presentation on Next Gen feel like they really fell short on several things. And that's not even to mention that on a vanilla version of both 25NG vs 24LastGen the AI was so much better on 24LG. The CPU AI ran the ball plenty and also missed passes and coverages actually worked so the product on the field felt much more like real NFL gameplay than 25NG does at this point in time.

This has got to be the most EA thing I've ever read, I mean please someone make it make sense. We have the most advanced hardware in consoles and PC we have ever had, in addition to a decade long wait for a new college football game finally coming to an end. And the college game locks the lighting, sky, shadows, and clouds into a immersion smashing static environment, and Madden 25 binary lighting changes work in a few stadiums some of the time. I honestly can't even believe it.

You think it's bad for us Madden players? Fifa players have been begging for progressive lighting longer than we have. Gotta apply pressure to get EA to move on this. It's not a good look for them.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but this thread along with the supposed better/logical CPU playcalling in Franchise is making me want to download the last gen version LOL

Anyone notice after the first big patch the progressive lighting no longer works ?

Progressive lighting on current gen or last gen? In my mind it never worked on current gen....sometimes the 4th quarter changed on a 4:30 game but most of the times the shadows are frozen at the 4:30 start time the entire game.

Last gen literally moves after every play and there are glorious moments in the 3rd quarter as the sun is going down and the lights are coming on that look so realistic and immersive to me. But alas, I cannot go back to last gen gameplay again. Even thought if I am being honest, last gen is not "that much" different than current gen. I could enjoy it if that's all I had.

It still works on last gen.
