Would be nice if they would do the roster update today or tomorrow. It's a three day weekend and most of us have more time to play the game. The 53 man rosters have been set. No reason to wait. Poor customer service by EA.

he has to add around 60 new players and it takes 20 min to make a player unless u just do bios and fill in the rest later

but it will take the roster guy around 20 hr to make everyone

Nah they use a program to add players it can take him one day to add all those players and player movements.

Not saying that they shouldn't. But they had three days since the 53 man rosters came out to add the missing players, update the injuries, and make the final transactions. Could have been available yesterday and they would have had plenty of time to enjoy their weekends.

i just did just the cuts and it took me 4-5 hrs just from that and teams like the rams are a mess

But you are not an employee of EA Sports with the same access to the internal coding of the game. I highly doubt the Roster guys sit there and edit rosters the same way that you and I do. The bottom line is that these guys get paid and don't even do half the job that people in the community do.

They'll get praise when their 53 man roster finally comes out just before kickoff on Thursday, but what about taking care of some of the issues that prevent us from having true to life rosters? How about adding positions that have been a part of the NFL for a while now, like a LS who isn't rated in the 30's and will just get cut? Or an EDGE rusher position so defenses can be set up in true to life form? Or heaven forbid make the Practice Squads with the current rules and add all of the players who are missing?

I'm not giving them a pass when I think that this is an area that could use a great deal of improvement.

i feel u btw there are if u count IR and who made it and everything there are 262 pra squad players missing
around 40 made week 1 rosters so by thurday it will be 222

Sadly, while I want to wait on week 1 rosters, every year when they drop, they are still missing a bunch of players on the active rosters....and, player who made the practice squads or should be free agents will just be "gone" from the game, even though they were on the preseason rosters. Let's hope this is the year they get it right but it's practically a tradition for us to "wait" for the release rosters to start our franchise, and then realize we have to wait all over again for them to fix what they broke!

They've said in the past that there's a limit to how many players can be on rosters and the free agency pool which is why so many don't make the cut in Madden or they have to prioritize who to include in the free agency/practice squad pool. Of course CFB25 has thousands of players so those limitations may not still be present on the newer hardware. But also Madden 25 is still on last gen consoles so who knows if that impacts it since I would assume there is roster parity between both versions.

I think you're oversimplifying the 53-man roster process. Many teams set a 53-man roster and will make changes the very next day due to releases and waiver claims they want to make. The Bucs had their 53-man roster set and made 2 changes since that time. Multiply that by all teams making even more changes and it would be silly to put out an update that you will likely have to update again a few days later. Salaries are only locked in for the whole season if you are on the 53-man roster when your game kicks off for week 1. If you're cut before that or signed after week 1, everything is pro-rated at that point. So it makes sense for EA to wait so they can get cap numbers...somewhat correct...and have the rosters correct as well.

EA has, for the last several years, released the first updated roster the day of the Thursday night game to kickoff the season. It's been that way for a number of years now, so I would expect an update Thursday afternoon.
