    Dynasty Recruiting House Rules & XP Sliders

    I've been developing my own house rules for recruiting and after a bit of testing and analyzing how all 134 teams recruit in the game I have settled on a set of rules that's been working really well and have made the mode much more realistic feeling, difficult and fun. Recruiting this way is based on team prestige. To my surprise EA has done a great job of matching recruits interest to the proper level of team prestige relative to their own star level but the problem is when reaching above team prestige level for recruits there are just too many that are interested or easy to recruit even without interest. This allows us to stack teams greatly, easily taking lower prestige teams to 5* and natties within only a few years. My house rules still allow teams to grow, but would take many years of recruiting and winning to turn into a powerhouse.

    Here's the rules. I've listed the requirements to recruit each star level player based on team prestige. Notes in parenthesis don't need to be followed if you prefer a more arcade game feel, you can just stick to restricting recruiting to top 3 interest if recruiting above your team prestige level. If you'd rather the game be more sim style, stick to the limits and you'll be recruiting on par with every other team in the game. These house rules hit some teams harder than others (and i've tested recruiting this way with all 134 teams and it still differs a bit because of the different my school grades and pipelines), so feel free to tweak the interest level to make it easier if you need to. I originally was doing top 5 interest but saw that it was still too easy to get high level recruits, even for the teams that the house rules really ramp up the difficulty but top 3 has been perfect.

    5* Teams
    New Recruits (should get around 2-5 5*, 15-18 4*)
    - Can Recruit 5* - top 3 interest only, non pipeline ok (limit 5 5* targets/recruits at any time)
    - Can Recruit 4* - any interest or pipeline (limit 20 4*/5* targets/recruits at any time)
    - Can Recruit 3* - any interest or pipeline (limit 25 3*/4*/5* targets/recruits at any time)
    - Can't Recruit 2*
    - Can't Recruit 1*

    Transfers (should get around 0-1 5*, 4-5 4*)
    - Can Recruit 5* - top 3 interest only (limit 1 5* target/recruit at any time)
    - Can Recruit 4* - any interest (limit 5 4*/5* targets/recruits at any time)
    - Can Recruit 3* - any interest (limit 10 3*/4*/5* targets/recruits at any time)
    - Can't Recruit 2*
    - Can't Recruit 1*

    4.5* Teams
    New Recruits (should get around 1-2 5*, 13-15 4*)
    - Can Recruit 5* - top 3 interest only, non pipeline ok (limit 2 5* targets/recruits at any time)
    - Can Recruit 4* - any interest or pipeline (limit 15 4*/5* targets/recruits at any time)
    - Can Recruit 3* - any interest or pipeline (limit 25 3*/4*/5* targets/recruits at any time)
    - Can't Recruit 2*
    - Can't Recruit 1*

    Transfers (should get around 0-1 5*, 2-3 4*)
    - Can Recruit 5* - top 3 interest only (limit 1 5* target/recruit at any time)
    - Can Recruit 4* - any interest (limit 3 4*/5* targets/recruits at any time)
    - Can Recruit 3* - any interest (limit 7 3*/4*/5* targets/recruits at any time)
    - Can't Recruit 2*
    - Can't Recruit 1*

    4* Teams

    XP Sliders

    I also have been working on making XP sliders to keep the classes balanced as they progress year to year as well as attempt to produce a realistic number of draftable players every year. This is still a work in progress so by no means final, but any changes to be made will be slight as this set is pretty close to what I'm trying to produce already.

    Looking at the XP sliders, wouldn't this mean OT OG and C get zero xp during the season, thus hardly ever getting ratings bumps?

      No they still gain xp, albeit a smaller rate than other positions. Those positions, along with MLB and others to an extent have way too many players grow way too fast without changing the slider a bit. Some positions hardly get any good players at all, like DT & SS which is why they're bumped to 300. These sliders are nowhere near perfect, but produce way better results than the standard 100 slider for all positions.

        Good stuff here. I didn’t really have any rules save for only target kids that have you in their Top 10. With that though, in year 4 of my Nevada dynasty, I’ve signed 1 or 2 ***** kids and 6 **** kids already. I’ll implement these for the remainder of the season which is helpful because I got into a situation where a few kids locked us out and they were need positions but there were no other kids with us in their Top 10. From the looks of it, you can recruit anyone with the same rating as your prestige level so that opens it up for me to find other “non-interested” *** kids since we’re *** prestige now. But, I still try to stay within my pipeline.
