So I fired up the ole game and was going to start my franchise, I used sliders i found on here. The biggest issue I see is it looks like the tackling animations are messed up. Like when I tackle or the cpu tackles it does not look natural. A lot of the time it looks like the ballcarrier runs into the defender and just falls down. Are there sliders that can be tinkered with to try to help the tackling animations or is this just how this years game plays?

In all seriousness, it needs to be tweaked. The hitting this year is absurd. To cure it yourself you can up the physics based tackling slider to make it a little less arcade-ish. I’ve settled on 55 for now but 60 was a helluva lot better than 50 was for sure. -
Re: tackling animations
Not 100 % sure but the Frostbite engine can't handle it like the IGNITE engine who was developed for real time physics & sports video games.
Tacklings feel sometimes better in M25, but they mostly happen in the open field ? One on One ?
Otherwise often i think it looks more like a circus than real NFL Sim because it's too much animated driven and the AI code can't handle it properly? Also the clipping and weird animations are so funny to look at...Madden is just a arcade fun game, never understood why EA calls it "NFL Simulation"Last edited by nedope; 09-12-2024, 03:14 AM.Comment

Re: tackling animations
Armor found a near perfect balance.
Tackle Physics 55
Tackle 35
This change has made it 100% better in my opinion. I will change every other slider but I will not adjust off those 2 at all.Really wish sports games played to ratings!
Only thing SIM about sports games now, are the team name and players
CFB 25 The absolute GOAT!!!
MLB 23 FOREVER 20 is better, 23 just for Guardians
Madden get rid of the extras (SS/XF, HFA, media, scenarios, game plan) or turn them down considerably.Comment

Re: tackling animations
Weird to ask but can you adjust this after you have started a franchise? Or does it need to be set prior?
I know the physics slider is only in the main menu….

Re: tackling animations
Yeah I agree the tackling animations seem wonky at the moment, mostly when you're running in between the guards. I am using Matts slider set, he has the tackling physics at 70 I think but my last game I played they seemed just not right so I lowered it to 60, may go 55 since most say that is a good sweet spot.Comment

Re: tackling animations
Good post I dont know if you played the beta or not but the realistic tackling and movement is what sold alot of people on the game today is totally different . Physics slider helps but its nowhere near the beta which is disappointing. The online influence continues to control the direction of this game which is also dissapointing!!
I don't recall the "ping pong" feel of the tackles that we have now while I was playing the beta. It almost seems like "Boom Tech" wasn't fully operating in the beta because "Boom Tech" is definitely the reason for the feeling that we're getting with the tackles now. Boom tech needs tuning ASAP. If it WAS in the beta, I would recommend that the devs dial it back to that level. Its even worse after playing CFB for awhile which feels very loose, organic and visceral.Comment

I mentioned this earlier today in the impressions thread. When the game came out it was smooth, now it’s terrible. Nothing is smooth and a bunch of terrible fantom tackles. This seems to be the theme in Madden every year. It comes out smooth then after an update or 2 it’s cooked.
