It’s not. And I also noticed on some punts by me the scoreboard blocks the kick meter and sometimes it doesn’t even move until I press X. It resulted in 2 really bad punts by me which led to short CPU scoring drives.

Yeah, I hate it. At first I was switching camera angles between every extra point and kickoff, before I got sick of it and just started squinting to see that tiny kicking meter. This was a bad choice.

There’s an accessibility option that allows you to make the on-screen icons larger. Wonder if that works for the kicking meter now too?

I know pre-patch it worked for the receiving icons and they are OBNOXIOUSLY large, so I’d be reticent about doing that.

the punt meter might be a mistake because its so odd but they may have done it that way to mess with your concentration in the same way a punter has to focus on dropping the ball correctly first before he punts it.



i think the kicking meter for attempts is them switching to a different form of concentration that more closely resembles the concentration when youre trying to hit the ball through the uprights. trying to be precise on a slower/not moving smaller meter vs just timing a fast moving larger meter correctly. i think it will lead to less complete shanks but more near makes and misses. i may be mistaken but it also seems like the pre kick accuracy arrow has a wider range. if that changed as well then thats another change focused on precision rather than timing.
in theory i like both changes. you obviously dont want the scoreboard blocking the punting meter. i havent seen that yet but that obviously would need to be adjusted. my only concern about the kicking meter is maybe it ends up being too easy after we get used to it.

That´s a possible theory, but I strongly disagree with it.

If the idea is that they slow down the obnoxiously fast speed of the left/ right bar, but make the meter itself smaller to make it more difficult, then why would they allow me to press up on the d-pad to enlarge the meter?

I believe it was a mistake that will be corrected in future patches.

For now, quickly press up on the d-pad to correct the meter size. And then down obviously to return back to your normal camera height.

Did the punt meter shrink? Are you XBox? I'm PS5 and the meters are different sizes for the place kicking, kickoffs, and punts.



I suspect a developer made a mistake with a check-in. I can't imagine they chose to change the meter sizes in the middle of a release lifecycle. It wasn't as if the meters were covering anything important that required them to resize the meters.

so im the guy at the museum over analyzing part of an exhibit and describing it to someone and then someone behind me taps me on the shoulder and says actually its just a trash can, its not part of the exhibit.

It’s a bug. The accuracy meter is half hidden and the direction/power meter is extremely small, so it just means it’s distorted. It’s not as bad for FGs, but punts is definitely messed up.

My kicking meter also disappeared when it was blocked by the field goal post when I was kicking from my own end zone
