Why Do Camera Angles in EA Football Games Continue to Stink?

I think Madden 25, and to a lesser extent College Football 25, get shortchanged a little...

Re: Why Do Camera Angles in EA Football Games Continue to Stink?

I don't like broadcast cameras in my football game so there isn't anything EA can do for me on that front. Using the standard cam, I have no problem running the ball. But when it comes to passing, I suddenly realize why the drag routes across the middle are my primary targets. Its because I can see what's going on. I still run pass plays to the sideline but I pick and choose my spots. I definitely don't want to go throwing blindly only to get picked off. Gotta let those plays develop longer. And it occurs to me this is what's to blame for the majority of my being sacked.
Since I cannot unknow what I just learned, I'm afraid this will result in even less sideline pass attempts on my part.

Outside of PC, we’ve never had a playable Broadcast Camera in Madden on console ever, so how can one not like something that’s at the core key to Realism & Immersion

Football is the only sport that doesn’t give the gamer the option to play from a “true” TV presentation as watched on TV

There’s a PC thread & videos of gamers want to get a glimpse of how real, immersive & beautiful the game looks with what modders did

Please EA, give us a custom camera. This would add immense value to this game.

        Thank you Chase.

Genuine question. How can you possibly make quick and accurate reads from a broadcast cam? The broadcast angle on TV is deceptive when it comes to reads, depth of field, positions of defenders, not even showing all the players on screen at one time. I'm not even trying to be rude, I just genuinely don't get the desire for it. I've tried the version of the sideline cam in the game and it genuinely is unplayable for me. I can't see downfield routes, I can't accurately judge how open receivers are, I certainly can't make out the clearest running lanes unless it's a massive gap that is easily visible. I also do not understand at all the people who play 2K in broadcast cam, so it's not just a football thing.

Definitely need to give us the ability to have custom cameras. I like to play close to the ground behind the line of scrimmage but see the entire field.

1 - Chase referenced the EA's CFB game too, which does have a playable broadcast camera.

2 - I find the experience to have more immersion when I have the view a player has, not a fan's perspective. Playing a football game, I'm a player , not a fan.

3 - If I wanted the spectator experience, then I would be more inclined to use a broadcast camera.

They gotta give us a playable Broadcast Camera at some point. They've done it before.

Here is a video I made of NCAA 06 showing off the side camera view and how when passing, the camera pans out...

                    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/cQ_P1PLZGlI?si=h_F1cGKlLU_zqrc0" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe>

These are a couple of examples of how EA has had these type of camera views in the past. I just don't understand why they won't put them back in the game.

Again those saying they don’t like is basing it off of how it is the console, thus why I referenced the PC modded version where there’s Youtube videos to see the game in action

PC at the snap, the cam zooms out to see all 22 players, then you can zoom back in at the catch or after handoff

This was my pre-snap & snap event camera
Then I had cam zoom in using Standard Cam view at the handoff & pass event
Then used Zoom Cam view with the At_Catch event

KO & Punts had same setup

Looked & felt like real TV

There’s no 1st person view in any EA Football game so I have no clue what you mean by “player” perspective, as you’re not playing from one now with current camera views

Well. I hope you guys get what you want in the future. EA's track record doesn't give much hope for it. I know I won't ever use it. Even with that zoomed out farther, just isn't going to be something I think I'll ever be successful with. But everyone should have options to play the way they want.

I definitely don't want a first person view, because I like to see what's catching up to me on my blindside, but the camera perspective from behind the offense is perfect for me. It may be an uncommon opinion, but I like Madden and CFB default standard camera, and by more than just a little bit.

I also can't see how anyone can play the game on broadcast cam, especially since I run a lot of options and need to read the DE/DT coming down the line or lining up inside/outside shoulder. I just don't see how you do that on broadcast cam but perhaps if you spend enough time with it, you can get used to it?

I actually play basketball games on broadcast cam. I think I'm just used to it (from the earliest days of playing "Lakers vs Celtics"...), and it feels pretty natural to me. Plus, there are so many changes of possession in basketball, I find it less distracting than having the screen constantly rotating 180-degrees on every change.
