MLB THE SHOW 24: 2024 OPENING DAY ROSTER BY HOUSTON

I have said this for years but seems like you gotta play sports titles a year behind due to all the patches and player scans and or player likeness add ons through out the year especially with this game.

This roster project called MLB THE SHOW 24: 2024 OPENING DAY ROSTER BY HOUSTON are being worked on by only myself so of course my release date will be a little longer than your FULL MINORS, THE TRUESIM PROJECT or any other rosters.

    ROSTER COMPLETION % - 75.1

I have been doing rosters since probably the Sega days and I am very knowledgeable about baseball. I take my knowledge and passion for the game and put that into these rosters. You can expect full accuracy, detailed of players information, ages, positions and appearance.

    * This project is based off using the 10/04/2024 ROSTER UPDATE.

    * These will have the Live Series Ratings staying with the San Diego Studio formula.

    * All San Diego Studio players are being re-rated using the Live Series ratings and any created players added by San Diego Studio during there weekly updates will also get the Live Series Ratings.

    * All other players not added by San Diego Studio will have projected ratings added, but I have a formula of my own that I will use to rate them how San Diego Studio rates there own players.

    * Rotations, Bullpens and Lineups will be set for the MLB only. These will be accurate as of Opening Day 03/28/2024.

    * All Pitching motions and Batter stances will be updated if the player does not have his own currently in the game.

    * If a players stance or pitch motion is on the game I try to keep it a close to that as possible, but if there is a better stance or motion available I will preview those and make a decision if a change needs to be made.

    * All minor league teams except single a will have exactly who they should have as of 2024 Opening Day regardless if a guy is older, a career minor league player etc.. If there on the roster in real life I add them I don't keep a player off these rosters to make room for another younger player.

    STEP 1: (Complete)

Verify MLB rosters players info based off my papers for OPENING DAY 3/28/24 with player names, jersey #, Height & weight and if there handedness is correct. (R-R L-R or S-R etc..)

    * Jersey #'s will be bases off level not 40 man.

    STEP 2: (Complete)

Verify AAA rosters players info based off my papers for OPENING DAY 03/29/24 with player names, jersey #, Height & weight and if there handedness is correct. (R-R L-R or S-R etc..)

    * Jersey #'s will be bases off level not 40 man.

    * Injured players 7-day DL or 10-day DL etc.. will be moved to single-A as much as possible. If I run out of room I might half to move some to FREE AGENTS but hopefully not prefer them somewhere on team but I prefer having players exactly where they are on my papers such as AAA or AA are concerned.

    STEP 3: (In Progress)

    3. Verify AA rosters players info based off my papers for OPENING DAY 04/05/24 with player names, jersey #, Height & weight and if there handedness is correct.

    STEP 4:

I am not sure what I will be doing with Single A teams or players as room will be needed for injured players and we only get 15 slots. Probably going to be more concerned with accurate MLB - AA with this project not so much Single A.

    STEP 5:

This would be final step but trying to keep project simple as possible. I am not going to concern myself with equipment or PITCH EDITS right now. I used to do PITCH EDIT CHARTS but haven't since 2019 so eventually I will do them again if this project goes well. I much prefer pitchers actually throwing what they should and at the frequency they should etc and usually would use Brooks baseball for this.

Now what the FINAL FEW STEPS will be

Going over MLB and AAA players positions and adding any missing positions based off career or possibly just the 2024 season. Make sure starters and relievers have correct position based off 2024 season.

    * Not sure if time is gonna allow me to worry about AA this year.

    * I will set all 30 teams (MLB ONLY) rotations, bullpen and closer along with lineups that was used in real life for 2024 Opening Day on main menu.

When starting franchise the (Above will not stick) your going to half to set those up again I will provide what those are in this thread.

    * I will set the 40 man rosters based off what they were on OPENING DAY but any players on 60 day DL will be left off the 40 man.

    * I'm a pretty good face creator and I'm going to try not to get fixated on correcting faces because will slow down process when I half to create a missing player create him as I usually do.

    * Not doing contracts either this year.
    * I don't re-rate players.

    * Any missing veteran players will get last known ratings and equipment.
    * Missing rookies will get similar SDS ratings for there position and will look up some images for equipment but the plan is not to spend to much time on 1 player and keep project moving.

    EXTRA NOTES:

I have not decided what I am doing with LEGENDS this time around but in my previous projects when you make to many FREE AGENT imports or LEGENDS player begin losing there photos. I am leaning to leaving them on there we can turn them off for franchise but still get real free agent players.

Also by importing over the LEGENDS takes awhile and just not worth doing that and risk losing player portraits.

Once file is uploaded you can decide to import over them if you want.

The issue is once you start removing the legends and players from free agents you will begin losing photos of real players. Been this way for years, so not sure how im going to do this project just yet.

Not sure I understand. Do you mean for the players replacing the devs ? Is it because we have to swap actual players back and forth from the FA list in the process ?

I think it's mainly when there's a lot of moves but more about importing exporting free agents/legends.

Not to much of a big deal as trade players on new teams lose photos. So putting them back on original team they probably won't get photo back. Now say you started with default go into franchise those players photos work. But again if you start jacking with free agents moving around then legends out or imported over for some odd reason players begin lose photos. No big deal for most people.

Haven't played franchise in a long time not sure if it's fixed but once a player gets injured u send him down or IR when they return there photo sometimes disappears to.

I have decided to take on this project. I am a 1 man show these days but will begin later today. I will do the best I can and as quickly as I can, but don't expect a miracle and these done right away.

I will keep thread updated on the progress...

                    It has begun guys.

And already found a couple things. This is the type of accuracy u can expect from my rosters.

                    ORIOLES:

RP Cionel Perez should be R/L.
2B Jorge Mateo should be 6"1.

I can confirm that when u put the players back to opening day teams most get there in game photo back. The player Card will show new team end of year etc but in game they get original team photo of team they were on around opening day. Most but not all. Pretty cool thing.

Here is a short progress update.

Unfortunately it's about 18% complete. Started out strong and my motivation last week wasn't there. I see that there is more interest for these so I'm going to try and dust the rust off lol and get back to work on them.

                            As of May 15, 2024

Michael Grove, Andy Pages and Gavin Stone have established themselves as key contributors to the Los Angeles Dodgers and were recently rewarded with new jersey numbers.

Grove, who had been wearing the No. 78 since making his MLB debut in 2022, is now wearing the No. 29. He is the first Dodgers player to wear that number since Austin Wynns in 2023.

Meanwhile, Pages has changed his jersey number to 44. He had been wearing the No. 88 since making his big league debut last month. Pages is the first Dodgers player to wear the No. 44 since Andre Jackson in 2023.

Stone also changed his jersey number to 35. He had been wearing the No. 71 since making his MLB debut in 2023. Stone is the first Dodgers player to wear the No. 35 since Lance Lynn in 2023.

                            * Shohei Ohtani is a SP for main position noway to give OF for main position. So for real life purposes we will need to put him at #5 in rotation and move SP James Paxton to #2 Long Relief, but move Paxton back when it's his turn to start and not use Ohtani. If the CPU controls this team in your franchise then you can put him in another spot in rotation now the one who's starting thst game and just send down the extra starter that already or doesn't pitch yet until Paxton does his start.

                            PADRES:

SP Dylan Cease should be 200lbs.

                            GIANTS:

SS Tyler Fitzgerald should be 6'3.

                            * This is for the MLB level only and some can be edited which I've done so on the editable players.

I'm probably only going to do these this year for this project not going to worry or focus on Single-A and the legends or free agents.

These 3 levels will have exactly who supposed to be there for each team/level. You can expect 100% accuracy for each level as far as jersey #, positions, and height and weight for each individual player (editable players I can edit height, weight and ages etc but SCAN PLAYERS we can not edit these things)
