HOF League pass question

I got my NBA League Pass promotion code a couple days ago. Logged into nba.com, signed up per the instructions. I thought I could watch the subscription on my tv through directv subscription, but its telling me I need to purchase the subscription. I can however watch on it on the NBA app. Online it says I can watch on directv if I log on with my provider. I've done that and it still doesn't translate over to being able to watch it on my tv thru directv. I've called NBA league pass customer service and directv customer service. They both refer me to the other and its worthless customer service on both ends.

Does this subscription only allow me to watch on the NBA app? Major disappointment if so. Only reason I bought HOF was for the savings I would have spent on buying league pass via directv in the first place.

League Pass only works on the app (at least that's how it was last year). I watched through the nba app on my Fire TV.

I still haven't received my league pass code. I ordered the HOF version through GameStop. Did yours come from NBA.com or NBA 2k?
