Below is my team list for my classic team project. I hope to put out a second version with a few other teams swapped into the mix, but time will tell. If a team isn't designated by alumni or custom, then you can find that team in the default team slot. Enjoy!

Roster Notes:
Fred Stanfield BOS/BUF > I left him on the Bruins as he won a Cup with them.
Larry Murphy DET/PIT > I left him on Pittsburgh as he played the full season there. He went to Detroit in 1996-97 but later in the year as he started that season with Toronto.
Paul Shmyr MIN/CHI > I left him on Chicago as they didn't carry as many defencemen in 1969-70.
Glenn Hall DET > I put him on Detroit 1951-52 as he appeared the next season with them as a rookie. There was no backup listed for Sawchuk in 1951-52 so I figured why not put him there a season early
Vladimir Tarasenko STL/FLA > I left him on the Blues as he played the full season there and won the Cup.
Andre Burakovsky WASH/COL > He played one more playoff game with Washington than he did with Coloarado, so I left him on Washington. Won a Cup with both so just a coin toss.
Dave Reid DAL/COL > He won a Cup with both. I put him on Dallas.
Jyrki Lumme DAL/VAN > He was more of an impact player on Vancouver, so I left him there.
Dave Babych WIN/VAN > He was an all-star on Winnipeg, so I put him there.
Martin Gerber ANA/OTT > He went to the finals with both Ottawa and Anaheim. It was a coin toss and left him on Ottawa.
Neal Broten MIN/NJ > He won a Cup with the Devils, so I put him there.
Brad Lukowich DAL/TB > He played more with Tampa Bay, so I put him there.

Any consideration of doing a classic season? With the ability to remove helmets, an early 70’s season would be amazing.

Hey all,
I am downloading NHL 25 today and will begin work shortly after on a greatest teams set for each franchise with a couple of surprise teams included. Team lists will be announced by division starting with the Atlantic Division. I'll update the OP with the remaining divisions as they are completed. The teams could be subject to change, but for now, I'm thinking:

1997-98 Red Wings
2006-07 Senators

Good to see you here, buddy. Give me about a month and half and I should have this out. Hoping for mid December at the latest. Still have a greatest teams project in the works for MLB 23 as well but it'll take a back seat for now. Yeah, season mode is the way to go with full control for sure, Armor. Already have the 72 Bruins done

There will be some 70s teams in this set so you could always grab those for a start on your 70s idea. Not much of a classic season guy to be truthful.

I revamped the OP with a complete team list for my first greatest teams roster set for NHL 25. A few other individual teams will eventually be created to offer other options. It wasn't possible to get all the teams in the first version that I wanted as I'm avoiding making duplicate players. I was also trying to include as many all-time great players with outstanding statistical seasons as I could.

Just an update. I am one team away from having the Atlantic Division teams created, and I'm currently entering ratings. My method is creating the players with proper gear first and entering the attributes as a second step. Things move more quickly with the NHL in player creation as you can really just get an essence of most players' appearances due to the lack of tools to personalize them more like in MLB The Show. Wish we had the older style skates and gloves... but oh well... can't have it all. Having the no helmet option this year was HUGE!

I hope to post some game action this weekend, pace of life permitting of course.

Made a couple of changes to my team selection. Moved the 96-97 Red Wings to the Central and added the 1951-52 edition as well. Also added the 1969-70 Blackhawks to the Central. Added the 1955-56 Canadiens in the Atlantic.

The 67 Leafs are not planned for the initial set due to duplicate player issues that would arise, but I am making a couple of extra teams after the version 1 release. They'll be on that list.
