Are you noticing a more balanced rushing attack in New or existing franchises?
So if you're not seeing the CPU run it more, are you using a new or existing franchise save. Also is your franchise offline or online if you aren't seeing the CPU run it more. what teams are you up against? I think there's some confusion and it would be nice to filter out the variables. I know I'm already several years into a franchise and don't want to restart to get better run pass ratios. I guess the point of this thread is to figure out definitively whether we need to start a new franchise to get the playbook fixes.

Well I can tell you from looking at the files on PC, the playbook stuff is all global, including the tendencies. Nothing in it is specific to franchise. What *could* potentially cause a variance is the "Launch Playbooks" option. I would stick with it off, at least for testing this. -

Re: Are you noticing a more balanced rushing attack in New or existing franchises?
Yes, certainly. Played two games in my 2027 season, as Dallas. On All Madden, Matt10 sliders.
Buffalo ran a lot early, passed more when they were behind.
NY Giants (now with a weak year 1 QB) used multiple power 1WR sets, and ran a lot. I struggled to stop them, having to go 4-4 often.Comment

Re: Are you noticing a more balanced rushing attack in New or existing franchises?
I still feel like the CPU is still pass-first on first down a bit too often with certain teams (Saints, Chiefs, etc.), and that contributes to it appearing to "give up" on the run sometimes, and resulting in lower than realistic totals by the end of games. But I've seen a lot more running on 2nd/3rd and less than 10 yards from those same teams, which tells me they made some changes to the gameplans in each playbook (the "star" system that dictates the frequency of it running certain plays in certain down-and-distance situations). So, I do think it's better, but it's situational. And how well the changes work will depend on how well the rest of the game is playing - if those teams never see 2nd or 3rd and less than 10 yards, they're still going to end up passing a whole lot.
Just my two cents.Last edited by bcruise; 10-17-2024, 05:47 PM.Comment

It’s still going to be team specific and a 19-7 split against a team that has Mahomes seems reasonable. Teams with lesser QBs should run more often though.Comment

The dolphins refuse to run at all. Multiple games played and they run about 10 percent of the time. IRL they are about 50/50.
I went through all the playbooks. First down many teams have only 7 or 8 runs out of the 20 plays in gameplan. If they would just allow us to have 2 custom playbooks, one for each team without that exit out of game workaround it’s an easy fix. Why this restriction exists I’m unsure.Comment

Re: Are you noticing a more balanced rushing attack in New or existing franchises?
New franchise, online, all madden default sliders with 10 min quarters
Titans ran the ball on me 9 times all game and Will Levis was 26-35 for 301 yards, 1 TD and 3 INTs
IRL, the Titans pass 28 times per game, however, with the INTs they were trailing in this game from the middle of the third all the way into the fourth quarter so I’ll give them a pass on 35 attempts. Levis had an almost a mirror game like the one he had against Green Bay earlier this year.
However, in saying that.. they ran the ball a total of 9 times the entire game. Tony pollard IRL averages around 17-18 carries per game, he was about 10 short in this one.
All in all, things looked okay. The AI still isn’t running enough for my liking, but that could be because the quarter lengths aren’t long enough/the Titans were fighting from behind.
I will play two more games on 10 minute quarters, and if I still see the same results, I’ll bump up to 12 and see if that makes a differenceComment

Re: Are you noticing a more balanced rushing attack in New or existing franchises?
2nd full game, Bills vs Seahawks
Seahawks started the game off running the bull and then fell behind 31-7. After that, it was pretty much pass heavy playing catchup the rest of the game
Kenneth walker ran 14 times for 45 yards
Geno 20-28, 311 yards, 2 TDs and 2 INTs playing from behind most of the game
I think going to 12 minutes is the way to goComment

The ration should always be 55-60 for every team bcuz it really is like that then maybe 65 pass for games they trail regardless of minutes played and this could be fixed with playbooks but they make it so damn hard to customize this game to get it right
I went thru every teams playbooks and it's 2-4 runs mostly under each scenario
They have no QB sneaks nor goal line formation plays in their playbooks
It's just really dumb how they have it set up and we have to use multiple workarounds for it to work
Sorry for the rant lol

Re: Are you noticing a more balanced rushing attack in New or existing franchises?
One slider to check is your pass blocking. If it's too high and you're not generating QB pressures with your pass rush, look to drop it otherwise the CPU will keep on passing.
Dropping it will encourage the run if you're taking the passing game out of the equation.
Try and find a good balance where you're not creating more sacks but hurrying the QBComment
