It's probably because every NBA team has a G-League affiliate now. Mexico is the lone team that is currently unaffiliated.

I get it…. But they are still part of gleague. Maybe it effects mygm mode or something.

If you go to User Rosters and search the user ID "PTSports84" you can find a roster that has the Mexico City team. Also, the Attention to Detail roster that is currently in progress will have Mexico City included.

Worth noting that 2K did not have the G-League Ignite while they were an active team. Might be a reason they want 30 teams. They don't communicate so who knows.

2K doesn't have any GLG player rights so really all it comes down to is whether a user cares if Juan Toscano is on Mexico City or the Rip City Remix.

Looking at the files on PC, both G-League Ignite and Mex City are in the game and are just hidden teams.

Can you add them into a roster on PS, or is the only option to download a roster that already has them unlocked?

Question: if you fill the g league rosters with players you choose, like free agents or historical players, will that carry over to a MyNBA you start while selecting to use that custom roster? Or will it still generate random fake players once you start a MyNBA?

Yes it will as long as you select your saved roster during the MyNBA set up.

One thing I noticed is that even if you use a custom roster that has Mexico City unlocked, if you start a season in MyNBA, Mexico City will not be on the G-League schedule. They will only be in your season in name only.

And there you've discovered another one of those lazy 2k things you only find out when you play a lot of MyNBA.
It's been this way for years but the G-League schedule is the exact same every season. So yea that's why.
