Getting roster update into existing dynasty
Is there a way to get the latest roster update into an existing offline dynasty? Or , do I have to start a new dynasty to use the latest update?
Thanks!Tags: None -

Re: Getting roster update into existing dynasty
Gotta start a new one chief...this is something that been lacking from sports games imop...there should be a way to have the option to have live franchise/dynasty updates if you choose to with all the AAA sports games. To have all the current transactions done.

Re: Getting roster update into existing dynasty
These things sound good in theory, but your dynasty or franchise in other games will never match what's happening in real life in terms of real game results. And updating the rosters would make whatever is happening in your save useless. If in week 2 of your franchise Ashton Jeanty got hurt, but a roster came out by the time you were in Week 3, his in-game injury would not be included in a real-life roster update. How should the game handle that? What about players who are in their third season of a dynasty? How would that work
In real life DeAndre Hopkins just got traded from the Titans to the Chiefs, but what if in my Madden franchise the Titans were undefeated? Why would they trade him?Comment

This is why I wish there was a “start today” option. Plus it would help a lot with the busted stats.Comment

I can't even fathom why you'd want that?Comment

Re: Getting roster update into existing dynasty
youre not a real sim player if you play more than one game a week sir. there are games that let you make roster moves for each team but no game is going to make live roster updates within a dynasty for that .0001% of the player base that wants that feature. editing on the other hand obviously everyone at least wants that as an option.Comment

Re: Getting roster update into existing dynasty
The problem is a glitch with new players and players with position swaps or archetype changes.
So this issue started on Aug 29 with the roster update. It has been 56 days. We have seen a few minor patches, two major title updates (including today), and another roster update. And no acknowledgement or fix.
What it Affects:
-Any player who was added to the base roster in any roster update since launch.
-Any player who had their position changed in the base roster since launch.
-An estimated 15-40% of all the players in the game.
The Problem:
-These players' archetypes will change upon creating a new dynasty (offline and online).
-This can result in a massive drop in OVR.
-It will also affect player progression in dynasty, as the player will develop with the wrong archetype.
The problem seems to vary by position. Here are some examples:
-QB seem to default to Field General
For example: FAU QB Kasen Weisman should be a 67 OVR Improviser, but appears as a 63 OVR Field General
-HB seem to default to Receiving Back
For example: JMU RB George Pettaway should be an 85 OVR Elusive Back, but appears as a 76 OVR Receiving Back
-FB seem to default to Blocking
For example: NC State FB Jordan Poole should be a 78 OVR Utility, but appears as a 62 Blocking
-WR seem to default to Deep Threat
For example, Western Michigan WR Kaevion Mack should be a 72 OVR , but appears as a 71 OVR Deep Threat
-TE seem to default to Blocking
For example: Cal TE Corey Dyches should be an 83 OVR Vertical Threat, but appears as a 45 OVR Blocking
-OL seem to default to Pass Protector
For example, JMU LT Tyshawn Wyatt should be a 70 OVR Power, but appears as a 64 OVR Pass Protector
-DL seem to default to Power Rusher
For example, Coastal Carolina RE Jayden Bryant should be a 58 OVR Speed Rusher, but appears as a 50 Power Rusher
-OLB seem to default to Power Rusher'
For example, Texas ROLB Morice Blackwell Jr should be a 79 OVR Pass Coverage, but appears as a 65 OVR Power Rusher
-MLB seem to default to Field General
For example, Cincinnati MLB Monty Weedon should be a 67 Pass Coverage, but appears as a 65 Field General
-CB seem to default to Slot
For example, Duke - Tre'shon Devones should be a 76 Zone, but appears as a 71 Slot
-S seem to default to Hybrid
For example, Utah State SS Omari Okeke should be a 77 OVR Run Support, but appears as a 74 OVR HybridLast edited by jasontoddwhitt; 10-25-2024, 10:56 AM.Comment

And, if a real player replaces a fake player, that player ID allows the fake player in your dynasty to turn into the real player. The real player inherits any stats the fake player accumulated in your dynasty.

Re: Getting roster update into existing dynasty
So I'm in year 6 of a dynasty and you'd want these roster updates applied to an existing dynasty that no longer has any of these players?
I mean this really makes sense. The coding should be super easy. Just write over what's happened and make up some new stuff.
This will go great.

Sure, it may be something you could do optionally, but it should be and lucky is a very low priority for sports devs. There are other things to focus on then something like an extremely niche feature.Funkycorm
