Reading about the troubles in 25 with the game not running the ball at all it seems like a deal breaker. What version do you guys think is best for franchise? 23? 24?

The bias to pass plays was introduced later in 24 with playbook updates that added more pass plays. It's largely resolved now. You'll get a few teams and games with disproportionate play calling, but it's mainly ok.

The best option is and always has been getting 25 on a PC so you don't have to worry about any of those little problems.

As someone who played 24 from launch I can tell you for a fact it's been an issue since at least the launch of 24. Not later. I don't know if it was ever resolved on vanilla 24 as I didn't play the vanilla game for very long, but I know very well that it was an issue at launch.

I do hear it's much better now on vanilla 25, but I haven't played vanilla and have no plans to for the rest of the cycle so I couldn't say.

I'm just trying to get this out there as much as I can and your post seems like a good point at which to do so. I advise you get Madden 25 on PC if you can, and plan to stick with it for at least the next 2 years. Perhaps more. Just 2 mods (Sabo's Gameplay and Sabo's Franchise) and 2 tools (Franchise Editor, MyFranchise) will resolve a massive number of issues you may have with the game, including CPU playcalling. (DOWNSIDE: You have to take a day or three off from the game whenever EA drops an update. Apparently there's a workaround but I can't personally get it to work. Probably because I have the subscription version since I play enough FIFA and NHL to make it worth it.)

I'm making an educated projection, I have nothing factual, just experience inside the building. But the one actionable thing I can say is you're not going to regret getting '25 on PC (I mean, unless you have to actually buy a new PC to do so, but otherwise...) if you plan to play an extended franchise, and you may well future proof yourself. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, I hope I'm wrong. We'll see.
