Varsity vs. All-American advantages of each:

Now, after several months of game playing there are sliders that make for good experiences playing either Varsity vs. All-American. What hae you found are the advantages of the game experience with Varsity vs. All-American?

Re: Varsity vs. All-American advantages of each:

If you compare it to current Madden games I would go like this:

CFB Heisman - above any Madden level
      CFB AA = Madden All-Madden
      CFB Varsity = Madden All-Pro

On CFB AA the cpu will very often find a way to come back in the 2nd half just like in Madden games on All-Madden.

On AA you will see a lot more cpu cheating, like defenders, who know exactly where a play is going and who are super smart.

So if you are looking for realism, play on Varsity, if you are looking for a more challenging GP, play on AA.

Agree with dirk1970 above. I think Varsity + tweaks for difficulty are the best.

I have played almost exclusively on All American since release, and I feel like its difficulty is 'artificial', for lack of better word (I know it all is, but moreso with AA difficulty).

Are you using any sliders or default varsity sliders?

I have average stick skills at best and I played most of my dynasty with custom varsity sliders and loved it. I was 1 ⭐️ to 3 ⭐️ teams.

Then I got the Michigan job and now as a 5 ⭐️ team with lots of 5 ⭐️ talent (before Michigan I never had a single 5 ⭐️ player, and Michigan averages about 6 5 ⭐️ recruits per year) varsity became way too easy so I had to go up to custom All American sliders and it plays very well (just as well as varsity with inferior teams).
              Favorite Teams:
              College #1: Michigan Wolverines
College #2: Michigan State Spartans (my alma mater)
College #3: North Carolina Tar Heels
              NHL: Detroit Redwings

I have been using varsity sliders along with default and all American sliders. I am trying to find something like you have done. I can’t seem to figure out where I need to be. What sliders are you using on varsity and all American?

Interesting, I find AA too easy but Heisman difficulty unrealistic.

Last few days I have been playing back on a AA set. Right off the bat, you can't thread the needle. If I defender is within a zip code of the receiver, they will intercept or knock it down, every time. It's not that the pass coverage setting is high either. I couldn't image what Heisman is like.

The biggest enjoyment of the varsity level for me personally is that on defense, I can control a linebacker and not have to manually move him until I want to.

Varsity definitely needs sliders especially after 4-5 years when the CPU teams all start to degrade. My OD is on Varsity and it's very easy.

Using Armor's Varsity sliders and having a blast. For some reason AA is on steroids no matter the set I use. I play AA on Madden for comparison.

Varsity is where it's at for this game.

Re: Varsity vs. All-American advantages of each:

I've been playing on All-American since Day 1. Just from my experience, here is what I've seen:

                            1) On the earliest builds of the game (1.0.0.8, 1.0.0.9), the AI on default is in my experience the most potent I've ever faced in a video football game that wasn't being played on the highest levels(All-Madden, Heisman etc.). From the potency of star players, to the play calling with how the AI uses the play book, it's been football heaven for me. Losing has never hurt so good. Admittedly, default All-American on those early builds, the QB accuracy is a little too good, AI Wide Receivers rarely drop any passes, and Pass Rush gets stonewalled at a very high rate. So, I made minor silder adjustments to those 3 areas, QB ACC(40), WR Catch(45), Pass Block(47), and it's simply a blast. If you are a lower level team, your margin for error is pretty much none when you face better teams, as it should be.

                            2) With the updates that came after Build 1.0.0.9, I could tell that they made an effort to balance out those same areas. So, on default All-American, the AI QB would throw more errant passes, and you could generate more pressure on the QB without slider adjustments. I think they've continued to try and keep it balanced ever since.

Personally speaking, I haven't touched Heisman at all, and played maybe one game on Varsity. I'm All-American all the way because it still gives me fits after 5 months playing. I'm also playing primarily on the earlier build of the game as well which may factor into that too.

We were all about Varisty in our online dynasty until the last major patch killed the CPU offense. We went something like 17 combined games (3-user dynasty) where the CPU didn't score 20+ points and about half of the games they scored single digits.

We decided to go up to AA; so far it doesn't feel overpowered as it was at launch.
