CFB25 isn't a good game. It's just the first in ten years so everyone is excited and over hyping. It's a nice base start to bring the series back, but it's not a quality game so no surprise it's not on the game of the year awards.

Hopefully, this base game will expand and they can fix the numourous errors in gameplay and the barebone modes that are just bland and boring. Perhaps next year the game will reach the level to be considered for awards.

I enjoy the game. I am still playing it today and am having a lot of fun with it. I've played probably around 20 years of dynasty to this point across 4 dynasties.

That said, the game is far from without flaw.

- Custom conferences are a mess
- Sim stats still need a lot of tuning
- There's a heap of missing QOL things like being able to look at team cards, player stats when looking through various menus like awards as an example
- The game is terrible at giving the player any idea as to how a majority of the mechanics work or what certain symbols mean
- Recruiting was weak at launch but has gotten better yet still has plenty of room for improvement
- QB logic is years behind where Madden has gotten it to

The game is fun and what it does well it does well, but my love for college football carries a lot of weight with my enjoyment with this game. If they can fix many of the issues above next year, it'll be a great game. I'm glad the game is back, it's fun, but it has too many issues that can be considered "major" for me to think it's a snub for it not to be mentioned.

this is insane considering they have top spin on the list and that isn't even the best tennis game that came out this year. WWE could have been put under fighting game category. And there are enough racing games that come out every year that could have been a category by itself. I mean to not have College or Madden on the list is crazy.

I believe it's US only. but either way that is impressive for it. the MVP bundle is also top 5 as a separate "game"

I agree with you as having three of the games on that list NBA2k25, Top Spin 2k25 and FC25. College football is the sports game that I keep coming back to. I get great variety in my games. Games that a real close or epic comebacks. I get them in this game. I don't get those other shirts titles.

Absolutely agree if 26 is as dull and bug ridden as 25 people will be irate... the lack of polish and details in this game amazes me considering they probably knew at some point they would bring the series back. They had like 10 years to brainstorm. They had 3+ years of actual nose to the grindstone working on it. Yet it feels like they just slapped something together from Madden and added a tiny bit of college flair to it.

I enjoy the game for the most part, I don't absolutely hate it but it was very underwhelming considered how hyped up it was.

I don't feel it deserves an award it will just be reassurance to EA that striving for mediocrity gets them rewarded.

NBA 2K and EA FIFA/FC are normally release day purchases for me. I haven't even thought about purchasing either yet (along with NHL and Madden) and they will need a good Black Friday deal for me to still consider them.

That's called lasting power with this game. Is it because we haven't gotten one in 10 years? Maybe, but that's besides the point. I created my own playbook (one of the most fun things I've done), I got into Ultimate Team, I'm doing dynasties with teams I never thought of using just so I can be in awe of all the unique college stadiums, all of which I've never done in any other sports game.

The fact it isn't even in a finalist, much less the odds-on favorite, is just crazy

After waiting a decade and hanging on to a PS3 that long, I feel like CFB 25 should be the game I play every day. But with the "Windshield Wiper In A Hurricane" kick meter, and the absolute Pick-6 Fest the CPU unleashes, I hesitate to play this game over the other flawed EA release, FC25. Sure, it may be old man reflexes that bring me down, but my college freshman son was really annoyed with the way his Vanderbilt dynasty went. But it can't be just us.


With the NIL agreement, can't they have real player photos instead of those generic avatars? Can't we have a little deeper selection of announcer dialog, instead of being mocked? It is a cleaner, more consistent presentation, but this is a decade later, so it should be.


I dread the thought of us falling into the old cycle of hoping next year's version would fix a lot of things, and not just be Madden 24.5. If it that's the case, I waited a decade for this, and I can call an audible and make CFB an every-other year purchase.
