Berzerk mode
I know this question has probably been driven into the ground by now but...other than going offline and confirming sliders are loaded correctly, does anyone know of a way to stop the "berzerk mode" from happening. I love the gameplay i have created out of the frankenstein combination of all the great slider posts on this forum. But I still see hit totals in the 50s every game as well as the CPU sometimes being almost "tracked" onto my user no matter what looking for the hit. I hope someone has found out some hidden slider detail that causes this. For context I play with game speed 1 on the pro setting using PKs sliders and a combination of edits using others' sets to try and generate the most realistic style of hockey possible. Thanks everyone!Tags: None -
Re: Berzerk mode
Loaded question there because when playing "Threes" offline, there is definitely a "rubber band AI". I'll score, then they score, then I'll score, then they score. And even PRO can feel like All Star mode.I know this question has probably been driven into the ground by now but...other than going offline and confirming sliders are loaded correctly, does anyone know of a way to stop the "berzerk mode" from happening. For the berserk mode, lower the CPU strategy to 3 or under along with AI Learning. I think thsoes are the sliders affecting the AI going crazy. -

There is no way to stop "Berserk Mode". It just happens and nobody knows why! No hidden slider etc.I know this question has probably been driven into the ground by now but...other than going offline and confirming sliders are loaded correctly, does anyone know of a way to stop the "berzerk mode" from happening. For Hit totals, hit power on 12 and 7 min periods have produced 37 to 45 hits per game combined for both teams for me and how I play.
Try tinkering with that setting until you see numbers that you like.Twitch

Re: Berzerk mode
Yes its definitely a cheat I normally have it at 1 or 0 and I even lower AI learn to 3 hopefully it doesn't effect shot stats as there pretty goodLoaded question there because when playing "Threes" offline, there is definitely a "rubber band AI". Re: Berzerk mode
Welp, caught up to the Pens actual schedule last night and even played the game today vs the Flames.
I kept thinking, man something is off. Now, I've been adjusting sliders every other game or so, tinker here and there.
Per usual, the sliders even though they are set correctly, preset matches the slider attributes etc. Guess what? They don't work most of the time. How did I find this out? By adjusting the Fatigue Effect and Recovery. That's where you will see they are not correct. I should have been seeing more wear and tear on my lines, yellow/red. Nothing but green and yellow at all times.
Quick google search and yup, others having the same issues with sliders not sticking even though they show up correctly.
What I noticed, just adjust the preset prior to starting the game in the game settings tab, change preset and back, then go to rules and adjust the post whistle and penalties if they change, sometimes they do, sometime they don't. Save in that tab, play.
Have to rinse and repeat every game.
This is just beyond ridiculous that this happens and still is happening two years later. Really tough to want to keep playing when you always are thinking wonder if these settings are even correct.

Re: Berzerk mode
Interesting. I have not had any of the slider resets at all this year. I had to check every game last year. This year, every game, the sliders have held and I have never had to reset them to what I use...Welp, caught up to the Pens actual schedule last night and even played the game today vs the Flames.

Cripes! If you keep bowing down and praising the developers, (NHL series) nothing they give us the consumer will ever be a "finished" product. Take a stand, it is your money!!!.Comment

Re: Berzerk mode
Correct, same here. They have showed up properly since a patch or two ago.
Even though they show up "correct" they are not. Easy way to check is go to one extreme on Fatigue settings and you will see.
Just make sure you change presets and change back prior to starting and you will be good to go. If you don't they possibly might not be correct.Twitch

Re: Berzerk mode
I would think you would want this type of variation I know at times I'm up 10 to 2 shooting and by the second or third it's balanced out.
The game plays in Cycles I know if I up the strategy the advantage or learning for the computer things are going to get tighter. I like the variance I like that I most of the time dominate crappy teams or I'm in for a battle against a good team I think e a n h l finally has the game play Down at least better than it was by a mile. Finally Roster share in NHL 22 !
