Re: NBA 2K25 Official Roster/Ratings Analysis Thread (Yearlong)

      The Tyrese Martin 30-piece

It's the only double-figure NBA game of his career.
He had scored 33 total points in his first 21 NBA games.

      <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/LSdZlWFIl80?si=Q3ocDgrzTa4daaTb" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe>

As far as the tape, nothing to really get excited about, just an open shooter hitting set shots.

Martin shot 43% from three in his senior season, but only 32% in his first three college seasons. He's capable of hot shooting, the long-term consistency is the major question.

      Tyrese Martin R2K Changes
      72 OVR (+3)
      85 3PT (+10)
      70 Shot IQ (+10)
      75 Offensive Consistency (+35)
      45 Defensive Consistency (+5)
      BRONZE: Set Shot Specialist (ADD)

Notably higher rated than Dariq Whitehead, the former 1st round pick who has only mustered 3 career games so far.

Re: NBA 2K25 Official Roster/Ratings Analysis Thread (Yearlong)

We've reached the point in the season where I'm working 50-60 hours a week and can't keep up with daily box scores (much less watch games/replays/etc). So the little bits I come across while tweaking my roster for an hour or two each night...

Sixers were fully healthy the first time.

                PG: Maxey, Lowry, Jackson
                SG: George, McCain, Gordon
                SF: Oubre, Caleb Martin, Council
                PF: Yabusele, KJ Martin
                C: Embiid, Drummond, Bona

I think we finally have some stability with the depth chart, a lot of players have moved around positionally since the start of the season. Yabu is locked in as starting 4, while Caleb Martin went from starting 4 to backup 3. George is the starting SG despite being taller than Oubre, he's in a sub pattern w/ McCain. Players like Gordon filtered out of the rotation, while Lowry can play his natural position. KJ Martin also established himself as worthy of playing time - between he and Yabu that's the main reason they've been able to shuffle guys lower in the lineup.

                  BUCKS
Middleton returned off bench, at the expense of Delon Wright. That means no backup PG in the non-Dame mins.

                  The lineup for both stints:
AJ Green, Gary Trent Jr, Khris Middleton, Bobby Portis, Giannis Antetokoumpo

Giannis is basically Point-Center in those lineups.
Unclear as of yet who should be getting PG as secondary position.
Trent has been subbing for Dame but Middleton also has a strong on-ball role (6 assists in 20 mins vs BKN).

My guess is Middleton continues off the bench because he isn't a great fit in the starting lineup with Dame at this point.

6th in Player Vote (39) - Behind DeRozan, LaVine, Trae, Harden, and Garland.
                    8th in Media Vote (1)

Being behind Garland in the Player vote is notable, given the season he's currently having.

                    Your 2022 East Starters (F/P/M)
                    1.0 DeRozan (1/1/1)
                    2.2 Trae (2/3/2)

In 2023 the scores needed to start were 1.8 (Mitchell and Kyrie)

Even if LaMelo ranked 1st in Fan Vote (which is extremely unlikely in itself), there are too many All-NBA guards now in the East that weren't in the Conference 3 years ago (i.e. he's not going to be able to put up a good enough non-Fan Rank). Mitchell, Brunson, Dame, and Haliburton were all in the West at that point.

Even if LaMelo won the fan vote he's looking at 1/5/5 at best which is only a 3.0.
LaMelo leads all guards in voting... and didn't get named a starter.

                    Fan vote: 1st
                    Player vote: 3rd
                    Media vote: 7th
                    Average: 3.0

If I had to guess - Garland, Cade, and Dame will be the East bench guards.
Trae is probably the 4th guard if another gets taken.
The coaches left Bradley Beal off in 2020, they couldn't care less how many shots LaMelo is taking.
