Re: 2024 Postseason Discussion
Travis Hunter is the Heisman winner. Jeanty definitely had a legit chance and BSU wouldn't be anywhere near the playoffs. But, Hunter's season was unreal and likely not repeated.

Re: 2024 Postseason Discussion
Texas Tech will have to play their bowl game without their starting QB Behran Morton as he is getting shoulder surgery(apparently he has been playing with a joint sprain in right shoulder for past 2 years). So True Freshman Will Hammond will get the start against Arkansas in the Liberty bowl.

Re: 2024 Postseason Discussion
I ran a simulation of the playoffs using the December 10 Patch of EA Sports College Football 25. Each game was a Best of 7 rather than a single simulation. This is not my prediction as several games went against who I think will win the game in real life. It was fairly interesting and the best of 7 seems arbitrary, but that is the format of the Championships for MLB, NBA, and NHL. Indiana won the first game and then Notre Dame won the next 4. That was one of 5 series (out of 11) where the team that lost game 1 ended up winning the series (Boise State vs Penn State, Notre Dame vs Georgia, Ohio State vs Texas, and Ohio State vs Georgia were the others).
I am fairly surprised by all Ohio State outcomes. While I expect they will beat Tennessee, I was surprised by the scoring. Tennessee gave up a season high 31 to Georgia in a loss and Ohio State gave up a season high 32 to Oregon in a loss. They swept Oregon? That seems like crazy talk to me. Georgia won the first 2 games and 3 of first 4 against Ohio State and then Ohio State won the last 3 winning Game 7 31-24, which matched the average spread.
I was surprised how easily Texas defeated Arizona State. Penn State wins game 7 against Boise State and then loses Game 7 to Georgia. If this holds true, Penn State games might be among the most entertaining of the post season.
Does anyone think the game "nailed it"?Attached FilesComment

Yeah, Sanders does a great job of selling exposure. Any other school and at best, Hunter wouldve been a finalist. I do think being a G5 player hurt Jeanty. I would've put Jeanty's season over Caleb Williams or Jayden Daniels seasons. But, I do think Hunter deserved it. It's a season that we never seen before and likely won't anytime soon. I just don't care for the "Snaps isn't a stat" discourse. It comes off as he's just out there getting cardio not making an impact on both sides. Those who say it are the ones who just don't like the Colorado/Deion hype train and they channeled it towards Hunter. I didn't think it was a good idea to play both ways and think his body would hold up. I see him being drafted as a CB and playing 10-20 snaps a game at WR in the NFLComment

Re: 2024 Postseason Discussion
I've been high on Jeanty all year, but I don't have a problem with Hunter winning it. What he did was super impressive, and I think that this was a year where there were great arguments for 2 different people. I do think that his season was overhyped though which is why I think the vote should have been even closer and I even lean Jeanty. Despite being in the more prestigious conference I don't think that you can say that Hunter played a higher level of competition considering Colorado dodged the top 3 teams from the Big12 while their biggest OOC test was Nebraska. Hunter was really really good at two different positions, but arguably not the best at either. Jeanty was by far the best at his.
I also think it's worth considering that despite Hunter playing both sides of the ball, and despite Colorado having more than a few NFL prospects on their team, and despite a very easy schedule...Colorado is a 3 loss team on the outside looking in while Jeanty's Broncos are a playoff team whose only loss was on the road to Oregon (and it isn't like Boise is full of NFL prospects helping him out either). None of that is being critical of Hunter it's just to acknowledge just how impressive Jeanty's performance was.
Deion was definitely better at marketing, and the uniqueness of Hunter's dual position was a different form of marketing in itself. Imo Jeanty had more impact on the field though which is what the Heisman is ultimately about.Comment
