    Shooting is horrid

What happen to offline shooting??? By far the most difficult ridiculous shooting they’ve ever had in 2k. Seems like regardless of difficult or sliders it’s almost near impossible to perfect a release and God forbid it’s slightly late or slightly early it ain’t going in regardless of the player.

For reference i’m using the celtics with all shooting sliders over 50 (Inside shot 55, Close shot 54, mid range 53, 3pt 52 and shot coverage impact at 35) and the amount of 3s and shots i’m missing is ridiculous. Shot timing profile i’ve messed with Normal risk reward, low risk reward doesn’t seem to matter. Anyone got tips, slider adjustments etc

Are you using rhythm shooting? Do you play with the meter on or off?

Shooting is maybe slightly more difficult than last year, but I’d recommend going into practice mode and just taking shots with your favorite team so you can get used to their shot animations. You shouldn’t be having that much difficulty making open shots. It’s the contested ones that get a little tricky at times depending on the defender.

    Hope that helps.

Shooting on this game is too hard, until it isn't.

Once you nail animations you'll be shooting 55-60% especially with rhythm shooting. Go to practice, and keep practicing. In game, remember a contested shot generally has a quicker release.

When you don't know the animations, then it's awful. It makes playing with different teams across eras impossible because it takes a good twenty minutes just to really familiarise yourself which each players shot.

But if you play regularly with one team and really learn each players shot, you'll find yourself shooting unrealistically well.

I play with the Mavs and it's gotten to the point I have to force myself to take bad shots otherwise I'll shoot 60%. I can pretty much shoot with Luka and Kyrie with my eyes closed even contested. Muscle memory just kicks in.

I agree btw it sucks as a system because of what I mentioned before. If you wanna play with different teams it's impossible. But if you just want to play with one, it becomes insanely easy on any difficulty.

I’m using the meter with the Celtics on All star now with 55 for the shooting slides and 35 for shot coverage impact and still miss most shots. I use the arrow meter and consistently get Slightly early or slightly late….while using low risk reward.

You can, but this year it’s a bit more of a reward if you use rhythm shooting. Also I shoot with meter off as they gives a slight boost but I also find it easier look at the shooter’s release point instead of the meter itself. When I used X last year, I did the same thing and had no problem making shots. If anything it was way too easy last year.

That’s disappointing here. Cause again i have sliders up to 55, the shot coverage impact down to 35 (with the Celtics mind you) on all star and they don’t hit a damn thing. Frustrating to hear i might need the meter turned off.

You don’t have to, I think you just need more time in the practice gym. When I play with meter on and shooting with X, I’m still making a high percentage of open shots. I don’t normally do that since I use rhythm shooting and I’ve really enjoyed it, but I just tried it out again with X and was shooting over 50%.

So I’d recommend hitting the practice gym and practicing different kinds of shots with each player on your team. I pretty much know the release point of all the Knicks players so that helps a lot. Also like I said, looking at the release point instead of the meter actually helps a lot since to me, it’s more naturally to look for the top of the shot release then try to time up the meter.

The green window on low risk is the smallest of all shooting profiles.

High risk, high reward is the profile with the highest green window.

If you just play with the Celtics, and only the Celtics, put some time in practicing on high risk. It'll be frustrating, but I promise you that once you nail it you'll be unbeatable.

I sincerely believe the only two things you need to win games is to nail your animations and figuring out how to go over screens. At that point the AI is at your mercy.

i took the short meter off and just use visual release from the shooter based off the release point ive selected and getting solid results thanks to Jeebs9

knowing the hot spots help also..

spacing is key, dont try to iso everyone, use the bigs with high screen rating to help you create space.

I could have sworn that in 24’ to shoot it was up on pro stick, not it’s down and I can’t figure it out. It’s this gotoshoot thing and rhythm is down now

The issue for me isn’t so much outside shooting. It feels just fine on all star difficulty. My issue is the number of bunnies I seem to miss which frustrates me. I could have a wide open lane to the basket, and I’m missing a layup with Michael Jordan just because someone was within an earshot of me. Me not being able to make a hook shot consistently with someone like Kareem when I have a mismatch. Hell, even in practice mode with no defenders, hook shots aren’t automatic. On 2k24, it was almost impossible to miss a hook shot in practice. Just looks goofy to see Kareem brick a hook shot from 5ft away.

Something I've notice that helps is using your left or right hand manually rather than just letting the cpu decide for you when selecting the shot button.

I think RNG plays a Big factor that's why you can't stay consistent like old school 2k's
